And if the fuckers can quote us Asensio and Casemiro @ £150m each, then tell them DDG is going for £250m!.

Please, please, let the rumours of Fellaini to Besiktas for £8m be true!.Roma apparently after Darmian too would be great, and Shaw to re-start hi career somewhere else!

Apart from Pogba obviously, when was the last time we actually went and brought a “top top player” (world class quality), in their prime, to the club? We never compete for those type of players and that has been part of the problem to date.

Strange for a so called “biggest club in the world”, wouldn’t we say? We need to spend billions as far as I’m concerned, on the right quality, to rid the club of the mediocrity that has lingered for so long.

Oh, and style of play needs to change et al.

The most problematic of areas for us besides the fullbacks has been at 10. Mkhi hasn’t been anywhere near good enough to suggest that he is the player capable of being a game changer. If there’s a player who has truly gone off the radar, yet is still a very good player is Mateo Kovacic. He has blistering pace, has an array of skills and will be an instant upgrade on our current lot. He will also add pace through the middle, something clearly lacking in our counter attack oriented approach. Madrid have no use for him, a cheeky £35M bid may just get the deal done

@ot fax machine. In my opinion Kovacic would be a shocking signing. He is really not that special and there would be too much risk involved. For me the jury is still out on Mkhitaryan, he has shown he can play at a top level but consistency is not there. I will make my final judgement on him at the end of the season.

If we are going back out to market for a no10 I don’t think we should be taking punts on players like Kovacic. We’ve already wasted money on Kagawa, Mata, and (possibly) Mkhitaryan. I would go for Julien Draxler of PSG or Antoine Griezmann who I think can easily adapt to a no10 role.

I think Griezmann is most effective when used out on the wing or as an out and out striker. I don’t think it would be worthwhile to turn him into a number 10. Draxler would be an excellent buy but is expensive. Max Meyer, also a Schalke academy graduate might be worth a shout, similar to Draxler but would be a lot cheaper than trying to buy off PSG who need funds to comply with FFP and so will drive a hard bargain.

Draxler would be great, but I wonder how much Spurs would demand for CH.Eriksen?!.What a player. Most probably would end-up demanding £200m for him,a brilliant player!
    I agree with @hatters about Kovacic,fear he could turn into a Kagawa,Mata,or a Mikhi.

redblood – And who can categorically say Griezzmann wouldn’t turn into a Kagawa, Mata or Mikhi? The fact is, nobody knows. We have seen too many good players brought in and as soon as they drink the water in Manchester or just wear that red shirt, they turn shit.

MMI-You`re spot on mate, nobody can.Glad I do not decide who United sign.It also appears that Griezmann has already decided to join Barca in the summer,if the rumours are to be believed coming out France and Spain!

I hope Ibra will be played predominantly as no. 10. I’d much prefer to see Lukaku, Rashford or Martial leading the line as they all have pace. Of course the rumours of Ozil will start up again as we get closer to January

Ibra is good as number 10 but you never know after such a injury and he is 36 something. But Ibra is Ibra he is different.

Love to hear the reports of Grimaldo joining us in January.
Thought he was quite good against us.

Was Benfica’s best player against us by a mile. Solid in defence and good in attack. It’s only two games but if he’s any good the players will have told Jose

Carrick and Fellaini will definitely be shown the door. Fellaini wants to be paid more than he is worth so bye-bye, he’s not like a Kagawa who brings in huge commercial windfall due to his nationality. Not sure what the story with Mata would be though. As a player he’s not quick, pace-wise, but his brain as a footballer is amazing. He see’s passes etc that most of our other players don’t. Would he be worth keeping to try to mentor some of the younger players on how to read the game?

@mmi, on current form Griezmann has already turned into a Kagawa and we haven’t even bought him yet.

Killyboye-If Shaw/Darmian,Carrick and Fellaini are shipped out in January, that would not be a bad transfer window.I see Mikhi is been completely ostracised from the 1st team!!

If a top quality left back or right winger that we’ve been tracking became available then brilliant, but I can see us offloading some fringe/youth players and waiting until summer for the right targets.

That said, I personally wouldn’t mind a punt on Ozil. If we can stay tight defensively and get into the later stages of the champions league, he’s a player who can create chances out of nothing and get you through a game. Mourinho’s worked with him before and know’s how to use him. Pogba, Ozil and Rashford/Martial on the counter attack could hurt any team.

Mike2005-Welcome mate, just hope we stay away from Bale,January or summer!.Even Griezmann on current form is not worth anything close to £100m being quoted right now.

If Ozil is realistically on the table then that could be the end of both Miki and Mata.
