Atletico Madrid paying Chelsea about £50m for Diego Costa. Chelsea will not be subsidising his wages even though he can't play until Jan

September 22, 2017 at 6:39 am #1534985we may even be hit with a similar or worse ban as we are under investigation as is City
September 22, 2017 at 8:09 am #1535013notnice – if I am, correct we have been investigated twice previously and on neither occasion were we found guilty (I think…?)
My feeling is that as we are very active in recruiting youth both home and abroad that we would be very clear on the rules and make every effort to abide by them. Mistakes can always happen but from what I have read the “offences” are not as bad as those made by Real and AM for which they had the bans
Naturally the Club say they have done everything correctly, so I am more than happy to give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise
However, if a ban was imposed then we would need to look internally at those younger players already on the books as they may need to be promoted and used more frequently than maybe they have done so in a way that could be a silver lining for the Club…? KTBFFH
September 22, 2017 at 9:33 am #1535047I am not sure why out transfer dealings have been seen negatively from so many different sources, I think all the players we brought in have added value and can do a decent job-cant think of too may other players that we could have brought in at that costs. Plus we have made many as well on the sold players. Maybe we should look at Bale next season though he is also getting on.
September 22, 2017 at 1:11 pm #1535172notnice – my main concern with Bale would be his injury history and returning to a much more physical league than he is in now. Hopefully the price would reflect that …? KTBFFH
October 17, 2017 at 6:07 pm #1546135I think we should move for Zaha in January.
October 17, 2017 at 6:19 pm #1546138bort, I’ve thought that for a while about Zaha. Any impending transfer ban could impact on this window either in preventing us signing new players or forcing us to load up with players in Jan with players we can sign if any ban might start from the summer.
October 17, 2017 at 7:26 pm #1546169Nine,
Id also go for Cyprien of Nice. He looks like a very good player.

What transfer ban is pending?October 17, 2017 at 11:21 pm #1546280We are under investigation by Fifa for a third time in eight years over a potential breach of the regulations that relate to the signing of foreign players under the age of 18.
October 18, 2017 at 7:40 am #1546313I think Zaha would add something to the team. He is a bit of a home grown boy and I think relishes the fact at Palace that he is the big fish in a little pond
I think that is partly why it did not work out for him at ManU plus the fact he was younger then so it made it more difficult for him. At least a move across London would not be so daunting and he could easily stay in touch with his roots. He offers a great deal of pace and goals so certainly worth a shout – depending on the fee…? October 18, 2017 at 11:22 am #1546446pylon, as per stuilse’s post @ 11:21am today.
bort, Cyprien look’s a good shout imo mate.
October 18, 2017 at 1:23 pm #1546539Zaha would be good, but my ultimate player for January will be Alexis
October 22, 2017 at 3:29 pm #1548075Watching Ozil today, such a cultured classy player, if not Sanchez then why not go get him.
October 22, 2017 at 4:08 pm #1548092Suggestions are that Sanchez wants to link up with Pep and will go to City in January for a knock down fee and Ozil wants to link up Jose and will go there on a free in the Summer???
October 22, 2017 at 4:40 pm #15481219
Probs agree on the Sanchez pep link
But I’m not having Ozil going to manure, defo not a Maureen type playerOctober 22, 2017 at 5:12 pm #1548154pylon, but Ozil played for Mourinho at Real and there’s always seemed to be a lot of respect whenever they come up against each other in the PL.
The reports in the press on Friday have Ozil telling his Arsenal teammates he’s going to United and Wenger suggesting he may well sell him in January?
October 22, 2017 at 5:12 pm #1548155….be really interesting to see whether Chelsea do try and do some transfer business in January in what is always a very difficult window to deal in.
October 22, 2017 at 6:21 pm #1548213Ha I forgot that, you keep me right 9, DOH😀
October 22, 2017 at 10:24 pm #1548336I still think that it’s possible to get Sanchez as long as we want to pay. City IMO would be reluctant to pay a 29 years old in a position well filled at City: de Bruyne, Sane, Sterling, D Silva, Bernardo in attacking midfield and Aguero, Jesus in attack.
And Chelsea are located in London. If Sanchez has family: he does not need to relocate. Find a new home, find schools for kids, etc etc.
Sanchez would be my first priority in January, but Ozil: no thanks. No, skillful but lazy
