Crossing and goal scoring.. Has the pace of willian… four or five years younger. Makes financial sense If PSG want to sell for something cheap.
Willian: 140 games 19 goals.
Lucas: 147 games 39 goals.Adds a bit more to a team than our own willian… Who I do rate highly. Interesting switch and would probably follow that he’s on his way after the summer rumours.
November 15, 2017 at 12:46 pm #1557628I can see that it makes sense if you think that Moura is younger, I assume would cost less than we would make on Willian, probably does the same/similar job and the fact that Conte clearly favours Pedro ahead of Willian based on appearances this season
All that being said, I really like Willian for all his faults and I know little of Moura
I am guessing a lot of this is just putting 2 and 2 together in the same way as Conte will go back to mange Italy – sounds more feasible than probable but cannot be discounted…? KTBFFH
November 15, 2017 at 4:39 pm #1557735Chelsea were trying to bring in Moura a couple of seasons ago but I think he choose PSG obviously for more money.
November 17, 2017 at 12:10 am #1558193Chelsea Star David Luiz looking a renuion with Mourinho at Oldtrafford. well that means a healthy profit for us give us £50m and he is yours.
November 17, 2017 at 7:58 am #1558218CM – again I think the press have taken the fact that Luiz is apparently unhappy at Chelsea or with Conte or both and simply made a logical extension that a move to play for Jose makes sense. They have tried to do this before with Willian and the obvious case of Matic
Not sure how true this could be but from a purely selfish point of view if Luiz were to leave then I believe that we have more than adequate cover at the back already and this will be further enforced next season when Zouma returns
Assuming that we can turn a tidy profit then I must admit I would have few qualms about him leaving…? KTBFFH
November 17, 2017 at 8:07 am #1558225If conte stays it is highly unlikely Zouma will be a main player for Chelsea next season, in fact I reckon he may even sell him.
Zoumas main weakness is his playing out from the back, hence why he is on loan.November 17, 2017 at 8:32 am #1558230David Luiz… or Sideshow bob… It depends on what player we currently have. This season he’s not looked like he did last year. Last year he was seriously impressive. This year, his silly antics have crept back into his game a little.
Great player to have in your side… But moving forward, is he really the answer at the heart of our defence? Probably not as Christiensen has looked the part when played. My concern is how his departure would weaken Chelsea at the wrong time. IE January.
If united want him, they can have him but come on down when the price is right. In the summer when the season is over.
Cant help but think that his re-signing might not have been a Conte one and the two have had some sort of disagreement over Elmano’s departure. All conjecture though and Im a fan of David Luiz and not his alter ego sideshow bob…
November 17, 2017 at 8:44 am #1558233so all the players that are in decline want to go to Mourinho at United-I think thats great. besides Matic theres been strong rumors about Willian and now Luiz, I think the sooner the better as they are holding up good younger players and with that slowing down the progress of the side.
November 17, 2017 at 3:29 pm #1558407On Lucas Moura, he’s a player with huge skills and ability, but he blows hot and cold and never seems able to hold down a regular starting place. Good impact player, so if we buy him, I hope we get him on the cheap
November 17, 2017 at 4:40 pm #1558436I’m not going to get sucked into too much of the speculation surrounding January transfers the last two major Summer windows have been disappointing in respect of signing the players Conte wanted and the January window is always much more difficult than the Summer window.
Hopefully I might be pleasantly surprised.😊
November 17, 2017 at 6:05 pm #1558460Can’t see us selling anyone in Jan. We’d be crazy to as our squad is small enough. Another forward and left back should suffice until the summer. Then if Conte stays…and that’s a big IF, then the likes of Willian and Luiz can be sold. Just as long as we make our signings first. And ensure Zouma, Tammy and RLC return from loan and are part of the first team next season.
November 18, 2017 at 12:22 pm #1558660I doubt if we will do to much in January, something probably to keep Conte happy. There are three reasons for this. First the January market is always difficult. Second if Conte leaves at the end of the season (and like most I deeply hope he does not!) we don’t want to buy Conte players when a new manager prefers someone else. Thirdly we must be very careful to consider players on loan who look as if they might now be ready -to me Zouma, Loftus-Cheek and Abraham are in the frame for squad places next seaon, maybe replacing with young legs the likes of Luiz, Cahill. Fabregas and Willian and allowing Batshuayi to gain experience on loan. The whole scenario is a difficult balancing act the club needs to get right.
November 20, 2017 at 7:03 pm #1559644So Mourinho wants David Luiz and is prepared to bid him for £50m at the end of the season. if true what a best time to offload his troubles. i doubt if they will pay that amount for a 30 year old player who is hit and miss and having played crucial role in our title success last season, isn’t that player this season. unless Mourinho wants to get one better over Conte ( if he may well still be in charge ) and Chelsea. or unless he wants to use him at midfielder if they sell Fellaini, because Luiz is similar in height and better technically. anyway if that is true i will chop off their hand without hesitation.
Man United ready to launch sensational bid for £50m Chelsea signing
November 21, 2017 at 11:15 am #1559847CM – but then you also see that Jose wants Willian if we look to offload him as well. They cannot all play…?
Lots of speculation with journalistic licence going on here as far as I can tell but if they both go then the coffers will see a significant improvement..? KTBFFH
November 21, 2017 at 11:31 am #1559854looks like Maureen is just slowly buying back his old Chelsea squad for the reds! 🙂
November 21, 2017 at 2:59 pm #1559967I don’t think we should sell anybody to Man Utd again. We lost Matic and see how he enforces Man Utd. We need to be intelligent if we want to be champions. (I know anyway City are already too far, but who knows, may be they’ll drop points?)
Our priority IMO again should be Alexis. We have to try to snatch him from City’s nose. City don’t need him. They already have a wealth of attacking players and I don’t think they are that interested on Alexis.

If United comes with £50m for Luiz who will have one year left in his contract after the summer. i would definitely take that money as i can’t see how he will improve them. i will struggle to see how he features in to Mourinho system. if this story has any truth in it which i doubt it has. then i can’t see him going there and improving them. we have seen this season when Luiz doesn’t have Kante he will be useless. the same may apply to Matic. against Chelsea Bakayoko and Kante overpowered him. i don’t see big improvement from United. despite them spending a wealth they are still nowhere near City. and if they are in the title race, which the Pro United media leads us to believe. i don’t see how they can rule out Chelsea who is only a point behind United.

As long as he doesn’t come to buy Hazard and Azpi we will welcome if he comes up with good offer. £60m for Willian isn’t that bad for me. and £50m for Luiz is welcome.
November 22, 2017 at 8:22 am #1560245I think we should sell Willian but not Luiz for now.
November 22, 2017 at 1:02 pm #1560409Everyone was raving about Matic and the impact he has had on ManU but IMO, they still look an average side who are winning games but not that convincingly. Even against Newcastle when they got 4, they struggled for large parts of the game and then the Geordies crumbled – I would not expect a team like Chelsea to crumble
For me, this is all about planning ahead and deciding on the shape of the squad for next season and beyond. If we got good offers for players like Willian and Luiz who are not currently regulars then you have to consider them
My main concern at the moment regarding ay potential transfers is that the current manager may not be in charge next season and in Moses you have a classic example of a player who can respond well to a manager but not to others. Would the new manager prefer to keep Willian or Luiz (for example…)? KTBFFH
