concernedfa hmmm where was Valencia for City 2nd goal ball watching and not sensing the danger even though in his position was the only defender that could see the complete picture.

Where was Fellaini when City’s attacks where coming straight down the middle time and again.

In regards to the previous 3 games we were playing teams that were parking the bus not attacking us like against City.

@ika FYI,I didn’t get on either LVG’s or Moyes’s case after four ‘effin games like you are doing here mate.I agree with you that he made mistakes with selection and tactics on Saturday and have said so on the matchday thread but my firm belief is that this squad is still at least four or five top players short and we are not even close to being nailed on to finish top four yet, never mind ending up as champions. So like I said I will cut him some slack until at least Xmas because we all need this appointment to work out or we really are up shit creek without a paddle!?

With blacky and Yorkshire on this, it’ll take more quality coming in before this is sorted. It’s not a case of replacing Lingard with Rashford and everything will be alright, it’s a case of this squad being seriously sub standard as some of us have been saying all along. Pep wouldn’t have had a clue what to do with this shite. He inherited the best team in Spain, the only team in Germany and, quite frankly, the best team in the PL. He leaves nothing to chance and he’d never have touched United with a barge pole. And I agree with concerned fan about Borthwick-Jackson, the guy’s bang average.

Yeah jm1502 you keep following concerned fan with your opinion on CBJ the same man who now rates Fellaini and Valencia after performances against Hull Bournemouth and Southampton.

I back CBJ on his performances in the wins we had against Liverpool (Anfield) City(Ethihad) , Arsenal (home) and the draw we had against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He also had 4 assists in 10 games at RB and is only 18.

Yeah show me another 18 defender in the world who has those stats.

I think our squad is just as good as City’s if not better on a player to player basis. Our problem is getting the players to play to their potential. That’s Jose’s job. He’s identified the weaknesses in our squad and addressed them which is what he’s good at. I still have my doubts over Bailly though. Saturday was his first test and he failed. He was out jumped by Iheanacho for the first goal and didn’t mark him for the 2nd goal. He hoofs it a lot too.

Lets see how we do on Thurs. Hopefully some of the fringe players get a chance to shine and give Jose a headache for Sunday.

Rooney, Rahford, Mata or Martial should always be selected before Makhytrin or whatever his name is even if they are a bit out of position.

manthistle – do you think your squad is as good as City’s?

You have a right winger playing RB (and he’s not very good at defending, just fast), you have a midfielder playing CB who also is not very good at defending. You then have Rooney who is playing crap and has been for the past 3 years.

What I don’t get is, Smalling was your best CB last season, where is he now?

I don’t give a fuck about stats ika, I prefer to rely on my eyesight and I’ve watched Borthwick-Jackson and don’t think he’s very good. Just a matter of opinion mate, no need to choke on your under strides about it. And rs83, I don’t know whether you were serious about him being a local lad but, if you were, whether he was born locally or in Timbukfuckingtu doesn’t matter a tuppeny wank to me mate.

@jm1502, who are you comparing CBJ to? You do realise he was just 18 years old when promoted to the senior team? He came in, did a job and barely put a foot wrong. He’s going to be a very good defender for us.

Amz – I think Valencia is just as good (or bad) as Sagna and Zabaleta yes. I think that if Pep was at Utd he would play Blind at centre back much like he did with Mascherano at Barca. His teams enjoy possession so he has no use for a player like Fellaini and Matic to win the ball back. We have better options upfront. Better left back… etc

Homerjay I am in total agreement about CBJ and as explained to Jim I am very serious when I big up his talents.

I think some people see him as a skinny dangerly kid but don’t realise he won’t always be a kid.

I like the fact that he is very composed in all aspects of his play ie tackling passing and reading the game not common in a player so young and he played against big teams in Arsenal City and Liverpool where we won every game.

He is also shown at 18 years old he has the composer to look up and pick his pass or send in a great cross as shown by the amount of assists he got from that position which was more than rojo blind and shaw.

Finally when he got injured and rojo came back into the team the left side of the field suddenly became a weak link.

So for all those who don’t rate him.fair enough but I think you have been watching a different player to me.

Like I said when LVG left thank you for Fosu-Mensah CBJ and Rashford and i just pray Jose doesn’t destroy them.

I’m not comparing him to anyone homer, just saying I don’t rate him, just like I didn’t rate most of the other young lads that got some game time last year, and look what’s happened to them all. Fact is, he got rather more game time than most because Shaw and Rojo were injured and he was no more than competent. From the reserves I rate Fosu-Mensah and Tuanzebe highly and I haven’t completely written off Pereira, that’s about it. The good news, if you’re interested, is that the next level down has some very promising talent, notably Gomes, Chong, Buffonge and Boonen.

judtin, how you expect us to play great football is beyond my comprehension if I’m to be honest with you. It doesn’t matter who the manager is, be it Jose or Pep. The fact of the matter is, with too many crap players in our squad, it ain’t gonna happen. Jose needs 2 or 3 transfer windows to totally revamp the first team let alone the squad in its entirety.

MMI we said the same thing about LVG.

Despite my criticism which I think is justified I still think we will do alot better than last season as Jose will looked to do the double over the bottom 12 teams where he can and if achieved is at least 72 points on the table.

    Gooner in Peace…

I thought our pages was where the in fighting was..good to see that its the same over here…anyway

Watching the game at weekend thought that Utd looked really un Mourinho like…very open in the middle and poor in a lot of areas but my you could and probably should have been at 2-2 by half time which is very Mourinho like…

I see much of the problem being Pogba/Fellaini and your right back…Bring Smalling back and allow Blind to patrol around in front of Bailly/Smalling and drop Fellaini or Rooney…Pogba should definately be given the role he had at Juve and then its who partners Blind in Centre…you have the options and while he has not hit the ground as much of you hoped I suspect in a few months Mkhitaryan will start to flourish and then watch out…probably start when we play you as well…

I have to say I dont get all the hype around City at the moment…apart from the triangle in attack and the defensive mid they are still there for the taking…
