right so Jurgen is here just over 3 months. Do people really think we have a world class manager who is going to turn us around? By turning us around, i mean constant top 4 finishes and trophies. We have seen in spurts how good we can be but we have also seen how poor we can be. He needs his own players in but is he going to be able to deal with how the transfer commitee work? Look at the players we are linked with Shane Long ffs. Mignolet a new contract. whats that all about.

people keep saying Klopp is going to be able to attrct a better and bigger player. Do people really believe this or will his hands be tied by the club. We need at least 5 players. Im unsure about everything like i always am. We could have Pep in charge and i still would be scpetical. The same old problems are still here. Mistakes killing us constantly. The same old shite time and time again.

we are in transition again and im sick hearing of that word.I have seen enough to think that klopp can help us push on with better players but look were we are now. Its just a joke. I thought by jan even with these players we would be progressing a bit better but i toally undersatnd we need to be patient. Injuries are killing us. As long as we continue to target average players we will be a mid table club. This season in the league is a write off. We need to win a cup to galvanise the club. Klopp needs money in the summer and the club have to stop fannying about and support him.

We dont know the basis on which he’s been employed. No doubt he can give us the style of football that can be both entertaining & successful with the right players. If the conditions are that he must sell before he can buy & make use of the players bought by a committee geared towards sell on profit then it may be a long road. Certainly we’ve gone from hoping to sign Reus to being linked with Long & relying on a midtable keeper longterm to be our number 1. We have to look to the positives, we are still in the cups. Win one, regroup in the summer then go again. YNWA

You don’t attain the level of success that Klopp has if you’re not world class. He built his Dortmund side from nothing and took them to the very top in Europe. You have to give him time because he’s obviously been surprised by the physicality of the league as was Rafa. It’s not his fault he’s inherited a lightweight team. How can they play a physical pressing style if they get bullied off the ball? Not to mention they’re incredibly slow. He doesn’t have the players he needs right now.

As for signing players, it’s the January window before the Euros. No top in-form player in Europe would want to risk unsettling themselves by moving abroad right now. Furthermore we would have to pay extra for players. The best we can hope for are gambles like Sturridge and Coutinho were.

Moreover, if you’re FSG, and you’ve spent 300mil+ and it hasn’t worked, you would have to give it time to see if it was the manager or the players that were the problem before you spend some more. That’s probably why the cheque book is being kept close this window.

Like it or not, our position is a fair reflection of the squad we have at the moment. It’s frustrating to go backward but we have a manager who has shown he can turn a team like us around given time. The best we can hope for this season are good cup runs. In Juergen we trust.

Three Months in and to be honest not a lot has changed,One week brilliant the next Two Piss Poor,Still leaking Goals left, right and centre,Is it all Klopps fault?…..No but there needs to be some changes in the way we are playing and Training, I do believe that we do need a better GK coach if Mignolet is to improve, Also do we need a striking Coach as we are bereft of Goals this season,Yes we can point the finger at injuries but We have players that can score goals,Firmino,Coutinho to name but Two but there is something definitely missing in the respect of coaching how to finish IMO, Klopp said he couldn’t perform miracles and that He wanted to give this current squad of players a chance to prove themselves to Him, I believe that when He does bring in His own players We will see a different Liverpool and Our future will be a lot brighter.

Nothings going to change until the owners sell up. FSG are worse than their predecessors especially regarding poor decisions and a ridiculously stupid transfer policy that no club would cope with. It amazes me how unlucky we have been with incompetent owners but this shower are on another level with their atrocious moneyball experiment which the CEO arrogantly believes in and refuses to abandon. Klopp is far better that Rodgers but he will become exasperated with a policy that demands young risky buys and reject loans, how can you compete with this scenario? If they don’t sell or abandon their inane transfer policy he will go and we will continue to compete with an outside chance of the lesser trophies. The players we are buying are actually getting worse as time goes on and I don’t see any differences in the summer aside from one maybe two that Klopp maybe has final say on.

If I go onto a race track with a regular family sedan I can hardly expect to compete with the formula ones can I. No matter how good Klopp is or what plans he comes up with he has not got the tools/players to fulfil the ambitions of him & the fans. We don’t have one top class player at the club or a regular game breaker. If Klop don’t get to buy HIS players we will remain the mid table club we are today.

timetogobr might have a point there. So many things have changed over the years, the manager, the coaches and the players and yet the club is still not improving. So maybe the problem isn’t from the management down but rather because of the owner FSG. They have no experience running a football club (no way is it the same as running a baseball club) and yet they constantly want to interfere with how things are run in Liverpool. Also, the transfer policy and the committees introduced by FSG have not been working and instead of tinkering or abolishing them, they forced them down the managers and when they dont perform they got sacked.

FSG may have save LFC from the previous owners and Im grateful for that but the real question now is: Are FSG the right owners to bring us back to our glory years?

Sean, there is no way you can judge Klopp until after summer when he has signed his own players and gone through a full preseason. I will only start judging him when I see the players he has signed and when he has had about a year’s experience in the Premiership

For me, Klopp has also not been helped by 3 of his 4 strikers being injured for the majority of the time since he arrived. Imagine how much a fit Srurridge and Ings would have improved our results.

Klopp is a top manager, but FSG need to provide him with the tools to do the job (money, new players),otherwise we will be no better off than we were under Rodgers. Caulker is fine, but was he identified by Klopp,or has Klopp been told to toe the party line, like Rodgers was with Balotelli? Green is a decent signing(if it happens),but FSG NEED to spend some money. We are midtable, the squad is a mess, and needs major surgery. Give Klopp financial backing, and he will prove how good he is. At the moment,it’s like FSG are asking Klopp to play football, but cutting his feet off at the same time,if you get what I mean

All will become clear over the next two windows. If the committee and constraints are still in place, I can’t imagine Klopp being as polite as Rodgers was.

Also, bear in mind the side Houllier took over had the likes of young players like Gerrard, Carragher & Owen coming through. I don’t quite see the same level of player coming through. Reus, Götze & Sahin were all products of the Dortmund academy. Do we have that luck? It puts even more pressure on us to find top players elsewhere.

Mikus,I’m glad Klopp is like that though. At least he has a bit of backbone, and will stand up to the morons in this committee (and you have to say, given what they’ve done so far, these people are morons)unlike our previous manager. Whatever happens,it’s certainly going to be interesting. Just read that article about the committee by Ronay. Frightening really

Mikus,we do have talented young players coming through. We have the likes of Rossiter,Smith,Brannagan,Randall,Sinclair (although apparently,he’s off to Spain at the end of his contract). These players just need to be given opportunities. They should never have sacked Rodolfo Borrell from the Academy. That was nonsensical. He was bringing through a lot of young players, yet he was sacked. And where is he now? Man City, and people are raving about their youth set up. Crazy decision by the owners to sack him

Hopefully ST, but we need players now, and I think they’ll still be some time off the first team, should they make the grade.

Nine, ye just read that article and its spot on.

songman, my issue is maybe Klopp wont be given the tools he needs for us to progress. Its clear the commitee needs to go. We may well have a top class manager but if his hands are tie then he will just leave. The club screws up constantly so it be no suprise if they mess this up altogether

I agree with Mikus, Klopp will stand for the committee offering him sub standard players and then him being expected to beat the world with them.

Rodgers was in a perfect position after the 13/14 title run to do something about this but failed magnificently in that window which ultimately cost him his job. I can’t see Klopp standing for the same.
