I think TSM you threw me a curve ball or I can’t count! Anyway I make it that there are just 8 games to go including the one tomorrow. I am looking forward to it and at this point if someone offered us a point I would snatch their hand off.

If nothing else I do hope we put up more of a show than we have in the last few games with our “rope a dope” performances. Crackers if you have no punch yourself.

Any team challenging at the top of the league surely should be making more of a fist of it? We seem to go into games more in hope than expectation. So realistically I can’t see us getting to the Promised Land this season but I am prepared to be surprised.

I am often wrong but I have a feeling that we might see Pedraza announcing his arrival proper in a Leeds United shirt and Wood will get back to scoring ways against Brighton. Clutching at straws I hope that we see much more from our midfield guys too.

I think the Brighton game is a tall order as will be Newcastle when we meet them a bit later. Overall though we cannot afford to lose any of the remaining games and we need to win more than draw games to be certain that we extend our season a little bit.

A plague on the houses of those around us I say! Should be get to the play-offs anything could happen!

Keep the Faith. We Are Leeds!

    Hi Good Guys

Well, what ‘d know! ‘Udders were well and truly milked by Bristol City this eve while the Wendies were blown away by Reading. Then there was Fulham who conceded late, late (a la Leeds United style) on Tuesday night against Blackburn. Very, very, interesting indeed. Form seems to be tumbling all over the place. Could our hour be nigh?

Hoping the boys deliver the goods tomorrow. We are long, long, overdue a performance and a half! I’m refraining from predicting anything; I’m just going to close my eyes and watch the game. Helplessly hoping …

Me too, Phoenix, Drew! Still basking in the after glow, over a quiet glass and pipe. Will return later.

Well done Phoenix. Your hunch materialized. You predicted a win; I was dreading this game. The Seagulls were left stranded in the shade; we were flying in bright light.

That was a performance which we had been crying out for. It turned out to be the best since the Derby game. Aye, there were several anxious moments, to be sure. In the final analysis, we looked like a team that is worthy of our lofty position. Deeply satisfying on all fronts: three precious points, a clean sheet, no yellow cards, no injuries, a bumper crowd … Let’s celebrate the moment.

We’ve negotiated another significant stage in our long and arduous journey:

    Signpost 38 888!
    38 games played,
    8 games to go,
    8 points ahead of seventh-place
    8 points behind second spot.
We shall wait to learn our fate,
As we near that golden gate.

I like your 38 888 observations, tsm! Well done to the team and GM for their performance and win yesterday. This season really does have a special feel about it. Let’s hope it has a fairy tale ending!

Thanks, Judy. I’m hoping that the two months, or so, of poor performances is water under the bridge and that we’re on the cusp of a rich vein of form, going into the home front.

Well now! The dust has settled down a bit and we are into another boring and pointless International break so no proper football until 1st April 2017 when we play Reading and it is on the box!

That was a stunning performance against Brighton even if the game lacked in quality. For all of the first half and into the second it looked it looked as if both teams had a tacit agreement that they could just gently play out the match and take a point each. But then LUFC reared up and stuck it to them! Oh Glory!

This was a great result and makes up for one or two that got away from us in the season. What we witnessed is that Brighton never got a look in and they were not allowed to play as they wanted to. The star for me was Berardi who put in a hell of a shift especially in the second half when he came under so much pressure.

It would be a bit churlish to start picking fault but I must admit my heart sank when I saw that Calamity Cooper was in the team. Throughout the match he looked like an accident waiting to happen. Perhaps Jansson had a niggle or something but GM knows what he is doing and we came through the game more than OK.

It was good to see so many of the others around us blink as well so it as a good weekend all around. Happy days!

As always great posts to read through on my lunch!! spot on summary Phoenix and posts from Judy & tsm 🙂

Cooper did have a couple of moments, almost an own goal which luckily Green and Berardi (I think) came to the rescue… which brings me to my next point, I must admit that in quite a few games recently Green has been superb.. long may it continue and happy to see him sign on for another year!

Pedraza had a few good runs, always looking to cause problems and went off at the right time as he looked knackered… on a whole, it was a toss up between Berardi & Wood, either could have taken the MOM.

Looking forward to the 1st of April!

Have to think of ways to pass the time this weekend to combat the withdrawal symptoms. TI have a Reading backlog. It will be an opportune time to eat up a few chapters. Still, it’s going to be a dry, long time of it.

I am looking at the garden and thinking up a plan to get stuck in there as soon as it dries up a bit.

However, as we wile away the time boys and girls spare a thought for an ex player of ours – Rio Ferdinand and his circumstances and it puts life into perspective. There is no certainty in life.

Blimey! What an agonising, boring, weekend. The 1st of April can’t come to soon. Hoping all our boys return from international duty with a clean bill of health.
