Any of you guys see the scousers tactics during the second half, sit in their own half and hit United on the counter. I wonder if they will get the same treatment as United did after the game at Anfield. Difference was today unlike the game at Anfield, United took risks and tried breaking the bus up, Liverpool went for the safest option at anfield and refused to take risks.
Klopp is a media darling, so you will not hear or read much about it.
January 16, 2017 at 6:43 am #1417640The difference is Liverpool were protecting a potential win and 3 points whereas at Anfield we were protecting a draw and 1 point.
PS – Jose is a media darling as well. He gives the media something to write about and they love him for it. Press love of Jose may have helped get LvG the sack and JM the job.
January 16, 2017 at 6:52 am #1417644I thought Liverpool were overly defensive in both matches. They were happy to pass the ball around on the halfway line in both matches.
Yesterday’s match lacked something, it lacked quality – which was our fault – and it lacked a second team looking to attack. They came for a point and they got it.
They’ll be much happier than us with the result.

That is the point I am making, when good old Jose protects his 1 nil lead, it is bad for football, when Jurgen does it, it is masterstroke.
Jose has been criticised by the media for this. Klopp will not get a mention.

For all the talk about Uniteds defensive tactics after the anfield game, Liverpool with their 45% possesion, made 106 passes in the final 3rd yesterday. United at Anfield made 106 passes in the final third, yet only had 35% possession.
January 16, 2017 at 9:40 am #1417740Liverpool were time wasting even before they scored. Taking their time with every dead ball to run down the clock. Very negative. Scoring the penalty just made them sit in more.
January 16, 2017 at 11:22 am #1417851Reminded me of us at Anfield.
January 16, 2017 at 12:20 pm #1417908We weren’t great yesterday but neither were Liverpool. I can’t understand why everyone is going over the top with Liverpool performance. We actually created three 1 on 1’s against a side which set up defensively. Well it helps by having ex Liverpool players all over our tv channels.
January 16, 2017 at 12:32 pm #1417918Jose made a career out of defending 1-0 leads, Klopp usually plays a very attacking game.
That is why you haven’t and won’t hear a thing about a ‘Klopp Bus’, not because the media is somehow biased against you.
I wasn’t happy with the draw but it is without a doubt a better result for us than you. Hopefully if we meet in a cup final the match will be of a higher quality, football wise. Our last few games have been kinda poor.
January 16, 2017 at 3:38 pm #1418076We still had more shots than you lot so parking the bus wasn’t exactly the sole tactic was it?
January 16, 2017 at 3:43 pm #1418077You also had less possession, what does that tell you? Park the bus counter attacking football.
Can you name one true Liverpool chance with the exception of Wijnaldum towards the end?
January 16, 2017 at 4:24 pm #1418100Don’t even know why there’s an argument here. They came not to lose and hope to nick it. That’s fair enough, it’s exactly what we did at Anfield. The onus was on United as the home said and we simply weren’t up to it. I was relieved to get a point in the end.
January 16, 2017 at 4:57 pm #1418116CM, so, if indeed, we did ‘park the bus’ which you did at Anfield in Mourinho’s ‘man for man marking’ plan then why is this an issue? You did, we did, right?
We had 44% possession (not bad away from home especially at your place) had more shots, more shots on goal and more corners so we didn’t come with the sole intent to defend as opposed to the game at Anfield where you lot had 35% possession and one shot on target. Pot calling….?
January 16, 2017 at 5:00 pm #1418118Fuck off back to Texas you self righteous twat
January 16, 2017 at 5:11 pm #1418121Brilliant! Hahahaha
January 16, 2017 at 5:13 pm #1418122TS7, first up, big words there, second, I am in Texas, so no need to go back. Finally, why is my last post self righteous? I want to engage in a fair debate. Thanks.
January 16, 2017 at 5:39 pm #1418126Rob Fort Worth TX the “self righteous twat” yank from Texas hahahahahaha! Don’t push TS7’s buttons mate, he is known to turn on Pool fans faster than you can say Jack Robinson.
January 16, 2017 at 5:47 pm #1418128We had to take risks after going one down so gave you guys an opportinity to hit us on the counter so obviously your going to get some shots away. You didn’t have a shot on target in the first half that’s how you defended. We created 3 one on ones despite you defending with 11 men which was more than what you did at anfield. Even your manager wasn’t happy with your performance at anfield, you hardly troubled us.
January 16, 2017 at 5:52 pm #1418133Well stay there then you pretentious twat. We don’t “engage in fair debate” with your lot, this isn’t Magdalen College and I have no interest in anything you have to write.
Mr Makavali can stay though, even if my post slagging him off has disappeared.
January 16, 2017 at 5:55 pm #1418134Hatters, thanks for the warning! I’m ready for him but as to whether he will enter into a proper footy debate without cursing or with no real response is another matter. Just wanted to know why folks are having a pop at Klopp about the overused phrase ‘parking the bus’ when Jose did it at Anfield last year. Nothing sinister behind that. I can handle name calling (as I never take things personal – folks who name call have more issues with themselves than those they attack) and only after a fair and fun debate. Cheers.
