Ginger, I call bullshit. Yes it all makes sense as a business model, yes progress is being made and this can make us a more attractive proposition to investors and players and five years from now we look in the mirror and we’re Arsenal.
We’ve been wheeling out this sorry excuse of being a team in transition for more than 10 years. Guess what, we haven’t transitioned. The only way we break the cycle(losing our best players, being viewed as a stepping stone to other clubs, being an ‘almost club) is in silverware…..simple as.

You call bullshit then agree it’s progress.
    Interesting.

Yeah I know, don’t ask me to make sense, I just want to win stuff! It’s been a while you know.
Guess point is that is it really progress if we’re not seriously contesting anything?

You don’t go from not winning stuff, to winning stuff regularly overnight.
There’s that bit in the middle called progress.
Ultimately we want to win the league but winning the League Cup a few times doesn’t really help that. Consistent CL qualification does.

Fulcrum, thats what happens when we chop and change the manager every few years. The team is in constant transition from one manager to the next.
Then the club has also failed to find a replacement for key players when they have retired or left for trophies.
We need to fight for our players and believe in the manager. The board also needs to allow investment in the squad, if we start losing our key players such as Coutinho, we are back to the drawing blocks.

Ginger, it’s hardly over night success we’re talking about though is it. Id say im more measured in my expectations than your average fan. We’ve had our current owners over 7 years and it’s been a case of one step forward two back. I’m not blaming the owners per say, the league is more competitive than ever not even to mention of city and chelseas unlimited funds, but there has been a complacent mentality here. In our current squad how many of these players have tasted success, it’s about instilling a winning mentality.
We’re in a great run of form, I’m enjoying it. And after the fact it’s fine to reflect on the season and point out the bloody obvious that finishing 3rd is progress on finishing 4th. But mid season to be conceding to qtr final cl as a good result before we’ve even played just feels wrong.
