The quarter final draw awaits; I wonder if Liverpool and Man U will be drawn together.
6 Premier League teams left with the other 2 being Newcastle and Leeds United from the Championship.
October 26, 2016 at 10:21 pm #1286991Wow, we’ve got Leeds!
Liverpool v Leeds
Man United v West Ham
Hull v Newcastle
Arsenal v Southampton
October 26, 2016 at 10:59 pm #1287093Hopefully the Leeds game will be on TV but they will probably pick the two all PL games.
Should be tough, but, we are improving, so, hopefully we sneak through on penalties lol
October 26, 2016 at 11:18 pm #1287159West Ham picked up a bit of form recently. With United being inconsistent, should be a tough game.
October 26, 2016 at 11:57 pm #1287234Favourable enough Draw for the Reds but as always Our Opponents are not to be Underestimated, Garry Monk has got Leeds going after what looked a dodgy start to the season so We could be in for a cracker of a Tie.
October 27, 2016 at 12:12 am #1287243The best tie we could have hoped for, with all respect to Leeds, who I’m sure will give us a tough game. They’ll come to Anfield with no fear, and will make it very difficult for us. I fully expect us to get through to the semi final though
October 27, 2016 at 6:50 am #1287294St – we’ve got a young team but Monk has got a bit of momentum building. At Elland Road we might have a sniff but I think you’ll be way too good for us at Anfield.
October 27, 2016 at 7:33 am #1287348Great draw for Liverpool which makes you think that their name might well be on the League Cup this season.
I suspect Leeds will give it a go at Anfield and go with a full side but providing Klopp picks a relatively strong side as he has previously you would imagine the most Leeds can hope for is a glorious defeat. ” But it’s a funny old game Saint”.?
October 27, 2016 at 7:36 am #1287351still a few big names left and much yet to happen before the finalists are picked, tad early for liverpools name being on the cup just yet me thinks!
October 27, 2016 at 7:41 am #1287354stevo, there are some good teams still in it and you would expect a semi final line up of Arsenal, United,Newcastle and Liverpool. With the PL clibs hoping to avoid each other even though drawing Newvastle won’t be easy.
October 27, 2016 at 7:45 am #1287363999 maybe a pool Newcastle, manu arsenal semi is on the cards with rafa going back to anfield and us likely getting spanked (not cos united are any good but because AW cant beat Maureen no matter ho bad he sets his teams up!) and thena pool man u final which of course would be tasty in itself if a little disappointing for me!
how did you lads play last night? must be disappointed after the 4-0 result, bit like us and Boro, after the lord mayors show and all that1
October 27, 2016 at 8:04 am #1287387Dandy Yeah I suspect the same mate. I think the PL quality will show in the end
October 27, 2016 at 11:23 am #1287759nine sorry mate but everytime you say our name is on something we lose lol!
the pl, the league cup and the europa league final!
i was hoping we would get utd away but id hate to get them in a two legged tie. Jose loves those games. Still, Leeds at home is a good draw but its another tough game. Monk is slowly getting things together there
October 27, 2016 at 11:29 am #1287780Leeds at home is a good draw. I wonder who will be managing leeds by the time the game comes around 🙂
October 27, 2016 at 11:41 am #1287795My money is now on Liverpool. Disappointed with last nights exit….felt 7 changes was too extreme and the likes of Willian, Oscar and JT were very rusty.
October 27, 2016 at 1:21 pm #1287981Haha Gibbo, you might of had a point in previous seasons but we appear to be on the up (run of defeats now to happen as punishment for positivity)
October 27, 2016 at 1:34 pm #1288008You can never be too sure Johnny. A few weeks back it looked like Monk might be gone after a couple of defeats but he managed to get a bit of a run together. My brother in law is a leeds fan and he thought it was coming but thankfully it didnt. Good for Monk though as it would be good to see him do well.
October 27, 2016 at 1:40 pm #1288023Gibbo, I thought the same, luckily he turned it around quickly and we are half decent at the mo and heading towards the play offs. It’s set up nicely for me to get a massive kick in the nuts.
October 27, 2016 at 1:50 pm #1288044stevo, 7 changes were probably too much but Chelsea need to give some of the most promising young players some real game time and I suspect Conte’s brief is to prioritise trying to get a CL place this season and consequently he prioritised the Southampton game whether that works out or not we will know Sunday tea time I guess.
Sean, ha, ha, you’re right I tipped Liverpool to win the Europa and Arsenal to win the title last season and look what happened.
Only goes to prove I haven’t a clue. But you all know that already!? Cheers lads 999
October 27, 2016 at 2:07 pm #1288092Johnny if I remember correctly you are 10th in the Championship and only 3 points or so away from playoffs. Thats a pretty good place to be for a new manager coming in and trying to get his style implemented.
Serious question though, whats the average time given to a manager under Cellino? Is Monk already there longer than some others or is he still relatively new (by Cellino standards)? -
