The short answer is that it is because We Are Leeds!
The longer answer would be because Ken Bates painted himself into a corner by “investing” the income from ticket sales to build the East Stand and then not having the dosh to pay the bills never mind buy any decent players. There was no option left but to sell to anyone that put any sort of realistic sum on the table. A bargain was there to be had apparently.
The hapless and GFH came, who by the seem of things, never had the readies in the first place. Thinking that they could buy the club and then “flip” it quickly for a tidy profit only to find that no one in their right mind would buy the club off them. P*llocks from the beginning!
