Liverlad – Agree, Karius is our weakest link. I hope we can get through tomorrow without too many shots on our goal, they will definitely target shooting from distance. Karius gives me the collywobbles.

Songman you keep talking about this obsession with Aubameyang when I told you I don’t have one but just rate the player – not sure what’s wrong with that. We have a difference of opinion of which I have no problem just like I don’t understand why you would suggest Arnautovic as a possibility – but it’s a football forum made for opinions as capkirk said.

Just to clarify again thou as you’ve missed my point. Aubameyang keeps getting bought up by others and I am just replying so it’s not really me not looking to the future but replying to other posts ….

Ant I think you’ll be surprised I think Klopp will bring in a cb and additionally bring in 3 other big players (not necessarily renowned but some top talent).

I’m all for a Coutinho replacement but want an upgrade on Coutinho. Would be nice to find someone who can graft, defend much Coutinho ever could. Last season that player was Lallana, when Lallana was playing well defensively we were really good and we still had his skill to give us that extra creative edge, skill wise he wasn’t as good as Coutinho but good enough. Who knows we are still waiting for the midfield incoming transfers. Keita could definitely play the Coutinho role better even better than Lallana!

Other than that idea, I would go for Fekir of Lyon he has high scoring/assist rate and could fill that Maverick role we needed against Stoke.

Apparantly Moreno to be offered new contract.

If we keep doing this well with Moreno around, I don’t really care if he’s kept on as the resident dressing room jester! He’s probably not on huge wages anyway.

Rather give a youngster a chance than offering Moreno a new contract.

If Moreno is being offered a new contract, Klopp clearly sees a value in having him around that we don’t. Trust his judgement. Ynwa

Leaves more money to spend in other areas.
Robbo first choice, Moreno 2nd choice.

Moreno can provide some level of cover all the way up the left side and is tenacious and has a good attitude it seems. He was improving before he got injured that time and by the way Klopp was talking about him at the time, he seems to be a bit of a special project for him.

Moreno got all the ability to be a top left back, the problem with him is his concentration, he keeps improving though and seemingly Klopp likes him. I always doubted that he would leave the club anytime soon, the thing is Moreno loves playing here and he loves the crowd. That´s kinda the problem because he often loses his head because of the adrenaline from the crowd.

Bob, you rate Aubameyang, and I also think he is a good striker with top stats who will do well at Arsenal. But what’s the point of fans (not yourself btw, as you clarified) continually discussing him if he has zero chance of joining Liverpool?

I would rather discuss players who have a chance of joining Liverpool, like the several targets we have been linked with.

As for Arnautovic, he and Neves were my wildcard picks (as posted on the weekend), and Neves has already been linked to us. I picked both players, because just like Salah, they have shown a capacity to improve rapidly, and should not be too expensive – note, they are only “wildcard” choices, not our main targets

On rating players, I don’t rate Lallana, he gives his all, but slows the game down & has not much end product.

Think I read something yesterday that Klopp said Lallana has travelled with the squad but will play no part.
I like Lallana. He was fantastic last year. Knits play really well between midfield and attack and works his socks off.
Unfortunately he’s completely out of sorts this season, no fitness, no form, no match fitness. I can’t see us getting much from him for what’s left of the season.
If we take points off Chelsea he’ll maybe play Bournemouth.

Lallana’s end product could be better for sure but I don’t agree that he slows the game down. Last season (when fully fit), he was a main player in our high tempo game and his off the ball runs helps increase our fluidity.

“Knits play really well between midfield and attack” Exactly.

I also find that Wijnaldum tends to play well when Lallana is in midfield also. I’m not entirely sure why. Is it because it’s more balanced , or because there is more space to work with?

Too many Cruyff turns when he should release the ball quicker, with this said, last season he seemed not to try too many. I stick with my thoughts on Lallana.

Fair enough, I wouldn’t completely agree with you but I guess I know where you’re coming from.

If we could get Shaqiri on the cheap from Stoke what would you guys think? He could be a great squad player, lots of pace, strength and skill.

Shaquiri is a very lazy player, wouldn’t have him, don’t think he’d suit our style and don’t think he’s good enough.
