Gary Neville was impressed with the way Liverpool executed their plan at Manchester City, describing their counter-attacks as devastating.

When you have players like Coutinho and Firmino and adding to that fullbacks like Moreno and Clyne, you should work with their strengths. Theirs is speed and flair and that was well worked by Klopp. When I saw the line-ups I knew City could get into trouble. They didn’t have any pace in their back four and knowing Liverpool’s wide men have that pace, I would have put Clichy and Zabaleta in the full back positions. Otamendi should have started as well. Yaya Toure can’t be bothered to defend anymore and he looks a bit lost when Silva is not playing. He shouldn’t be an automatic starter for them anymore.
But all credit to Liverpool and Klopp. They’re just a different team now, I wouldn’t mind having Klopp at United these days. Liverpool need just a little more consistency and a couple of top players and they could challenge at all fronts.
