Just to be clear i’m not Hazard bashing, i’m pointing out that his performance levels have dropped. He needs to be consistent, especially as we aren’t playing in Europe so he is getting decent rest. Maybe training is hard and extensive?

Either way, he will always start in my team but needs to be wary that Pedro is on fire and Willian needs to be given a chance at someones expense…

As for Vidal, my point was we need to replace Matic. I wouldn’t pay £50m for a 29 yr old. Veratti would be a quality signing.

Phwepsi; Hazard has scored 9 PL goals in 23, won player of the month 2 months ago and after a game you rate him as terrible in against a really good side at home – you are now hoping we sell ? You’ve lost it

    totaly agree with SF
Hazard is our best player and of course will have off days, a joy to watch in a Chelsea shirt, probs the best on the ball since Zola, and he to had off days.

BP – I do not think anyone in their right mind would disagree that on his day, Hazard is easily the best player we have in our squad today

There are off days and off days and all players will suffer these. No one expected his off days last season to hit the extent that they did and his transformation this season was exactly what we all wanted to see. Hazard himself has spoken of consistency and going on the pitch to enjoy and entertain so when he does not I would argue that it is only natural for people to notice and comment

As AMZ said, we are not Hazard bashing (or any other player either) but equally are not blind to the fact that Hazard’s form has dipped of late – constructive criticism in the same way that RDP points out the stats for Costa and is he worth a new contract…? KTBFFH

Exactly if someones form drops then they arnt a direct starter according to conte. You have to work to get back into the team. Why shouldnt hazard be any different? 9 goals in 23 games is hardly amazing and he isnt back to his best he was 2 year ago.

I never once said to sell hazard? Learn to read.

    Phwepsi come on now chap it’s not he says she says! You wrote the below a mere 10 posts up;

“Question is where to? We can demand over £100m easy”

… so yes you are speaking about selling him. Iv now added you to my list of posters clearly under 13 but perhaps that should have been obvious from the fickle and petulant tone of your posts.

The fact that no one is guaranteed starter shows Conte doesn’t think he is dropping form and whilst he might say that, I doubt any manager of or club unless out of their mind would not start Hazard every time when fit. There is a reason for that.

‘Its not he says she says’
then totaly contradict yourself by doing the same thing

‘you are now hoping we sell ? You’ve lost it’

I never said i hope we sell him. I said if he wants to leave we can demand 100m. Pretty sure thats not me hoping to sell him

Wont respond if you dont read what im saying properly

    These are facts

Phwepsi your opinion is often of very little intelligence and importance. If you are going to have an opinion write one post that is well thought out not a ton of posts that are complete drivel.

Even when Hazard plays what you consider crap Phwepsi, he still manages to be our more most effective attacker on the pitch!!! If you can explain to me what Willian or Costa did for 90 mins that made you go after Hazard rather than them then please explain?!?!

Completely agree with Super Frankie that Hazard carried us forward especially in the first half and he got the assist for Luiz’s free kick and won a free kick not long after we should have scored from. I also thought Hazard ran his socks off.

I thought this game might be a draw Liverpool were a wounded animal they were back to almost full strength, Liverpool raise themselves against the top sides and the Anfield fans are always keen to welcome us in their own inimitable way. 🙂

So it was always going to be a tough gams, before the game I would have happily settled for a point but at the end of the game I was disappointed that we hadn’t taken all 3.

On the Plus side and somewhat unexpectedly the other results went in our favour.

I don’t think we were at our best last night but we did put in a very competitive performance it’s another difficult game out of the way.

We probably need circa 30 points from the next 15 games with circa 86 points probably going to be enough to win the title hopefully we get there.

True enough Hazard isn’t playing at the level he was earlier in the season but like all players form goes up and down and there is still magic in his feet.

Costa fed off scraps yesterday but still won a penalty albeit he failed to convert it and still put a shift in.

Anfield is a tough place to go although Chelsea could easily have left with all 3 points last night the way the night panned out though it made it a great point for us.

Another massive game again on Saturday here’s hoping!

Steven Gerrard as a pundit on BT Sport last night might as well have been sitting there in full Liverpool kit with his Captain’s arm band found his arm such was his bias, in the United v Liverpool game Jamie Redknapp co commentating on the game even refered to Liverpool as us.

I don’t know why the Broadcasters don’t field ex players from different clubs who would do a much better job of analysing what they are seeing. Glenn Hoddle is a great analyst though.

    9 agree totally
It was cringeworthy from Gerrard, almost crying when debating the penalty with Howard Webb, BT need to have a rethink on him being considered a pundit
Glenn hoddle was pretty much in the Liverpool camp last night, as really are a lot of pundits so desparate for Chelsea not to walk away with it.

    Phwepsi,

Thats the only positive thing Costa really did in an attacking motion all night and what was his next action? hey mate? Missing a game winning penalty

999 – loved watching Gerrard “discuss” with Webb about the merit of the free kick that led to our goal

I think at the end of it Gerrard acknowledged it was not a foul but an action that any ex footballer could identify and happens frequently. My interpretation was that it was wrong as it was Chelsea and we scored but if was a Liverpool player then OK as everyone does it….

Thought he could not come across more biased if he tried

But did love Ballacks wide grin though…!! KTBFFH

I would say that while Hazard is our most gifted attacking wide player all of Hazard, Willian and Pedro have their merits and on any given day can turn a game in our favour

They all have off days and all can be game changers so I simply relish the fact that all 3 play for Chelsea and make us one of the most potent attacking forces in the country ably assisted by Costa leading the line. KTBFFH

1905 I thought Willian had a nightmare game against Liverpool and both Fabregas and Pedro should be considered for a starting berth against Arsenal cause when they came on we looked stronger on attack, Fabregas will probably play a blinder as most players tend to do against their ex teams. Willian can always be utilised as an impact player.

notnice – agree that both players influenced the game on Tuesday

I just have this niggly concern regarding Fabregas and I worry about his defensive capabilities. That being said it sounds as though Arsenal have real issues in the midfield for our game due to injuries so maybe we could get away with starting Fabregas (and I assume you mean at the expense of Matic..?)

Appreciate the incentive he will have against Arsenal and maybe that it is just what he and we will want on the day..?

Just shows what a tough decision Conte faces each week when players do well in a cameo but I still think he will go with what he knows best so I expect to see Fabregas on the bench and then a toss up between Pedro and Willian. KTBFFH
