This will be another tough match with Palace far from safe from relegation just yet.
Benteke will be out to prove a point and will an aerial threat as usual.
However Sakho who has been a rock for them will not be available. Zaha will be a threat too.
I imagine they will come to sit back and then hit on the break or pinch something from a set piece.
I don’t think Lallana or Hendo will be available for this one so the team could remain unchanged from the weekend.April 18, 2017 at 6:46 pm #1465986This is the most important, and possibly the most difficult game of our season so far, we have to contain their pace and properly defend their set pieces.
Klopp will prepare diligently for this game and he has to get his tactics spot on. He must also watch their recent games against Chelsea and Arsenal in full, plus Allardyce’s after-match interviews as he explains his tactics in quite some depth.
Same team again, with Sturridge getting more time
April 18, 2017 at 7:00 pm #1465989I think Klopp will have to think out of the box again for this one…despite our wins, we have flattered to deceive last few games. Early goal could set a tone and if we can manage the game like we did against West Bromwich Albion then I think we’ll get a positive result… We don’t need another Bournemouth performance.
April 18, 2017 at 7:41 pm #1465998Agree I’d imagine same team as last weekend. Massive game again. We need the 3 points.
April 19, 2017 at 5:32 am #1466073Martin Kelly would be one player to watch out for in this game, at least we don’t have to deal with Scott Dann’s header.
April 19, 2017 at 8:06 am #1466102Could have done with Chelsea picking up a result on Sunday, would have taken the pressure off us a little bit going into this game. In any case as the old saying goes 5 cup finals to go. I personally don’t care how we play or who plays as long as we get three points. That nak of not playing well and winning is something LFC have not had for years its a great habit to have.
April 19, 2017 at 6:18 pm #1466515In classic Allardyce style, he certainly won’t be going all out for a win. He really doesn’t like Lierpool and will go all out to frustrate. He’s a prick and I love seeing him interviewed after a loss. Hopefully he’ll be seething this time too.
April 19, 2017 at 6:30 pm #1466519Agree bofa the fat one is a loathsome prick and he does not like us. He will do all he can to frustrate us and take something. I think this will be a tougher game than our last two but Sakho will be a huge miss for them.
April 20, 2017 at 9:17 am #1466683CP have been on our ever expanding list of bogey teams recently and are on a good run of form. They are more or less safe from relegation, which may help us, but we can’t expect any favours. It’s going to be tough.
April 20, 2017 at 10:06 am #1466740Lallana said looking fitter and fitter by the day.
I don’t think he’ll start on Sunday but I do think he could be on the bench.April 20, 2017 at 12:03 pm #1466867Major question marks over the fitness of Matip, Lucas and Klavan for this weekends match.
Doesn’t leave us much left in defence.
Gomez starting?April 20, 2017 at 2:02 pm #1466955Really frustrating news on Matip. Defensively we’ve looked good in the last two games and now this. Matip’s persistent niggles worry me.
April 20, 2017 at 2:44 pm #1466999Matip another player made out of papier mache…
April 20, 2017 at 4:33 pm #1467068The way our squad is getting so decimated by injuries and with 5 potential “Cup Finals” still to play; what would be the harm in getting Gerrard registered to play for the rest of the season. I’m not advocating playing him for 90 minutes as a box-to-box midfielder, but as emergency cover for a centre back berth or holding midfielder. If things get desperate for us, I’d sooner have his nous and experience than promote someone up from the U18s.
April 20, 2017 at 4:57 pm #1467088Give Gerrard a break, let him get on with his job as a youth coach. Do we still want to recall him and put him under such a heavy responsibility to help us to clinch top 4?
April 20, 2017 at 5:41 pm #1467094gabara>> I was only thinking about getting him registered in the event that the worst case scenario occurs – which is with Matip, Klavan, Lucas, Henderson all potentially out – and what happens if we get further injuries before or during matches? We are getting so wafer-thin in the central defensive/holding area; thought it may be a contingency that could be beneficial.
Also, you seem to have interpreted it that this is something that would be done against his will; whereas I thought it would be implicit that it could only happen if he was fully supportive and willing.
April 20, 2017 at 6:16 pm #1467102Cut the cord.
Let the man retire and get on with his new career.April 20, 2017 at 9:48 pm #1467182In the last 6 meetings, they’ve won 3 and we’ve won 3, with no draws.
They’ve also scored an average of 2 goals per game against us.They’re also in a good run of form at the moment, and showing some good spirit to come back from losing positions lately, so they seem to be well motivated. They also beat us in the last meeting at Anfield.
With a few important players missing for us, this will definitely be a tough game.
April 21, 2017 at 12:15 am #1467230We have a few young players who are very close to being up to the task. If we absolutely have to use them now, I can only say that we should have given them a little chance here and there before we absolutely needed them to step up.
