I think the idea of hendo needing to improve his attacking output (goals / assists) is really unfair. That isn’t his job…there are 5 (7, if you include full backs) players in more advanced positions than hendo a lot of the time when we have possession. Those players can chip in with more goals – as can our centre backs who come up for every set piece and NEVER get us a goal from them…like for example hyypia offered us.
Hendo has been playing well, despite this ongoing heel issue. When he did last play regularly in a more advanced midfield role (2 seasons ago) he actually contributed pretty well with (something like) 5+ goals and 15 odd assists. I imagine he would have progressed from that, but then he had a season affected by injury and this season has adapted brilliantly to a new position.
He shows loads of leadership and you can see what a strong character he has become. Love seeing him face off with people like costa. He has developed from a boy to a man in this team.
