I agree mwake, now we have players of equal quality as Manè and that’s why he’s not standing out so much, but he’s working hard and tracking back really well

Loved the look of the team last night more of a 4-2-1-3 than 4-3-3

Can and Wij in front of the back 4, Coutinho if front of them, and then Salh right, Mane left (these two able to switch) and Firmino central, gives us pace width and plenty in the centre. When the ball is left Salah was coming in to the centre and when right Mane coming in. Neither glued to the line so a nightmare for defenders to pick up.

Not sure about the poster seeing us play 2 up top, didn’t see that formation tonight 🙂

    mwake.
I agree with your comments on Mane, but last night , although making one & scoring two I felt that his touch wasn’t quite there at times, heaven help someone when he fires on all cylinders.
It was just a joy to watch the match last night, hope we can continue against the bitterblues, but as pointed out on here Sam with park the bus & play anti football.

Paxman if you wear referring to me then I stand by what I said. I never saw your proposed 4-2-1-3. It was quite obvious that Firmino was up top with Salah behind him. Mane was operating primarily down the right with Coutinho down the left, which he acknowledged in an interview, certainly not in front of Can and Wij.

gellerbing,. totally agree. itw as 4-4-2 from the start. Salah up top with firminio with salah dirfiting everywhere

liverlad, agree, sunday is a huge test and so is wba. Pardew and sam have had good results againest klopp .Everton will have 10 men behind the ball. Big tests for us and they will target us from set plays.

It was either a 442 or a 4411. Mane and Countinho were wide mids and often Salah played off Firmino up top. In transition it was a 451.

    Good.

“Spartak Moscow U19s captain Leonid Mironov has been charged with ‘racist behaviour’ by UEFA following his abuse of LFC striker Rhian Brewster yesterday.”

    Captain as well…..shithouse.

Well, that was fun! What a performance! Then I get home and watch the ITV highlights and have to listen to Roy Keane telling the world that we haven’t played anyone yet. What shite! No-one tells Barcelona, PSG or Real Madrid they haven”t played anyone when they batter teams. Spartak are the Russian champions (I think!) who happened to be in a great run of form themselves, and we made them look like schoolboys. We are all quick to criticise when things don’t go well, so let’s give credit where it’s due. That was simply a joy to watch!

Firmino is on 12 goals now for the season.
Would anyone bet against him hitting another 8 for the rest of the season making him a 20 goal a season striker?

    Hightown,

Take no notice of Keane he’s a manc $hite with an agenda and usually makes his “pronouncements” not for their integrity or brilliant insight but to stir the sh1t.

I heard him too and laughed myself silly, I’m sure you didn’t buy into his childish, puerile “observations”!

We definitely had Salah playing up with Bobby, just behind but closer to him than the midfield four. Coutinho was playing left, not central, not sure what someone would be watching not to see that. Emoticon.
