Liverpool would thrive in CL; it’s just getting there that’s the issue

I really don’t have faith in Origi for anything more than a back-up Sturridge or no sturridge.

Whilst I think we could’ve won the title, I don’t think we would have done as our players just aren’t consistent enough and we prob need a few first team additions.

I don’t see how a team that can’t consistently finish in the top 4 can thrive in the champions league. If you aren’t good enough in your domestic league to win it, only a miracle like Istanbul will see your team win the CL. Arsenal under Wenger are the perfect example of how we would fare in the CL if we were good enough to qualify as league runners up. When we did qualify, we sold our best player & brought in Balotelli to replace him in preparation of thriving in the CL. We have a lot to squad improvement to do before we can make an impression in Europe again. Cheers

The basis for the argument is quite simple. The way we’re setup this season, we tend to do well against the better more capable teams than we do against teams who park the bus.

What has previous league form got to do with any of this? Nothing.

Funny argument then ???? As long as we play Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus in the CL we will be OK, but we may struggle if we play Besiktas or even a Leicester. If we can’t thrive domestically, we won’t thrive in Europe. That is the long & short of it.

Well our PL form would tend to agree with my position, no matter how childish your attempt to articulate it is.

Remember mates, take a deep breath and count up to ten lads, before posting.
We all lose our heads at some point during the season.

I think Liverpool would do well in the Champions League but as I watch the farce of Leicester 3-1 (so far)(Leicester have played really well) it would be a one season trip. As they couldn’t do well enough in the league to get back in the next year. Time Klopp bucked his ideas up and got this bunch of idiots performing. To be fair, we helped out several of the teams down the bottom this season so its only fair we do the same for Leicester.

The irony of Liverpool being the first team to make a big deal of using a sports phycologist when the have had pathetic levels of mental strength since is not lost on me. LFC the bottlers – (as Rafa would say… FACT).

If we were in a group of death with say FC Basel, Dynamo Kiev, Celtic or Brugge… would we qualify to go on to beat Bayern Munich, Real Madrid & then Barcelona to lift the CL? We have to be strong in our domestic league if we expect to thrive in Europe imho

This heading is hilarious, anyone that thinks LFC would thrive in the C/L needs to seek medical advice. Liverpool couldnt handle the Christmas period with no Europe ffs, how the hell would they thrive in the C/L.
We have no world class players, plenty of average ones & only 1 player that offers a direct threat. I honestly believe Klopp has been found out. I never thought he was the messiah some did but thought he offered more than this one style of play. It ain’t rocket science to figure out why we can’t beat the lower teams but are effective against the top teams that have a go.
The EPL is a different beast to Germany & what worked there won’t necessarily work in England. There are many good managers that can figure you out if you are 1 dimensional & that’s what’s happened. The players cannot maintain the high intensity & as someone else said the lack of quality players has been found out.
