Steve McClaren is actively “encouraging” Fabricio Coloccini to become “more vocal” – as he believes it will only improve his performances.

Marshy I can just see it now “whoops was that my man”? “Was I supposed to mark him”? “Yahoo, charge, follow the ball” Mind you he’s played better lately.

As a captain he should be doing that automatically. Very poor choice as captain. The fact that he can’t mark, is constantly out of position and looses his man and forgets his assignments I suppose means he can’t be more vocal, as you can’t tell other people to do their job and to step up if you can’t do it yourself.

    as i said, poor captain

Mav, when did collo become captain, when Nolan was sold and the following season we finished 5th, is that right, not sure. If that’s the case, when Nolan left, who would you have made captain?

and since then what has happened eh vodka, 2 seasons of almost getting relegated and this season of goals leaking and our keepers under the cosh.

Who would I have made captain, probably one of the whole squad you want to sell (as it seems the only one you want to keep is Collo). And to be honest there were a few options, but alas Pardew and Ashlery destroyed the team and the morale of the team so some of those left due to lack of ambition and proper coaching and management, and look what we were left with.
