Definitely Messi to win the Ballon d’Or.

Maybe he will win the Puskas award for best goal as well – his goal against Atletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final was mesmeric but Florenzi’s belter from the halfway line against Barcelona was also quite something – plus it was deliberate!!

It’s obvious Luis Enrique will win coach of the year and Messi will win player of the year though. These awards are boring really.

Suarez should have been there instead of Ronaldo.

Although in a way it will be funny to see Ronaldo’s face again when Messi gets his fifth.

Lol Suarez should be there instead of Ronaldo? Dude Ronaldo just broke all records surpassing even the legendary Raul! Talk about jokes!

The Ballon d’Or is an award for individual achievement.

Ronaldo has scored the most goals in Europe this calendar year (46). He was also the top scorer in the 2014/15 season, scoring 61 goals and laying off more than 15 for his teammates. Ronaldo’s powers are diminishing but these are numbers that Suarez has never come close to.

Play the ball, not the man.

Yes Ronaldo scored 46 goals, but Suarez has 41 goals plus 22 assists, so to say Suarez is not close in terms of numbers is just plain wrong. Ronaldo’s goals were worthless, when it mattered at the key moments of the season he didn’t deliver, but then he boosts his stats against easy opposition (see 5 goals against Espanyol for example).

Suarez was crucial for Barcelona’s treble, lets not forget his games against City or PSG where he was outstanding. He should have been shortlisted.

This could easily become a very pedantic discussion. My opinion is that Ronaldo is well deserving of his place in that final 3.

The Barcelona front three is next level and they have plenty of goals and assists to go around there.

In any case, the Ballon d’Or has become so mind numbing with people counting goals and assists for a few forwards in 3 teams (Bayern, Madrid, Barca).

Where are the defenders? Where are the midfielders?? I really couldn’t care less who wins these awards anymore with the crappy voting system they have.

I bet you’ll see Gerard Pique in the world 11.

Suarez was banned for a quarter of the season but happened to be just as important to Barca as Neymar was last season. He even scored in the Champions League final

This ‘competition’ has just turned into a ridiculous farce because of the brilliance of 2 players. It’s not what it was all meant to be about all at.
