shedend – Thank you – and that sounds handy in the circumstances – no wonder we are after him.

Again, trying to be positive I want to agree with Liquidator in that the board feel sure that we will be getting in players so we can lend other out

I think the Kenedy situation was awkward anyway because of the incident in China and the repurcssions that followed so I am not reading too much into his loan anyway – but the fact does remain that it is another option taken away from Conte (and at this stage we have no idea if he sanctioned this or not). to whoever just said that we are letting kenedy go means we have people incoming. I said the same when we sold chalobah then matic then plaisic. And yet none have came since. We let players go before finding replacmenets. Its just not logical

On Kenedy putting aside that it’s another player going out I’m not sure he’s good enough for Chelsea but perhaps even more importantly I think Kenedy cooked his goose in respect of Chelsea with his China errors and I suspect we probably wont see him in a Chelsea shirt again.

Also as the liquidator says if we’re letting him go given where we are currently you would think Chelsea are confident of bringing one or two in shortly.

On Costa the Liverpool rumour was started by Phil Thompson as a “what if” and was primarily to do with a pre January 1st loan prior to joining Athletico in January, as Amz says Costa doesn’t like England and if he can’t settle in London he won’t settle in Liverpool.

I didn’t agree with Matic or Cech joining rivals but seemingly this was down to RA and done based on service/ relationship with the club and both of those players caused no problems to the club whilst Costa has caused plenty so I can’t see Costa being given the same leeway even if he wanted to go to Liverpool which I personally doubt.

I think Costa will join a European club either on loan until January or permanently with his ideal final destination being AM.

I wouldn’t rule anybody in or anybody out currently especially when we’re all only dealing in rumours.

Personally I think it will be very difficult and very expensive to get Rose out of Spurs and equally difficult to get Ox and Drinkwater out of their respective clubs too so if we are trying to buy English then Barkley comes into the picture because currently he is available, is an international central midfielder and English.

Cancelo is also a possibility assuming we’re in for him and we don’t get out manouvered by other clubs.

Still more questions than answers but things will sort themselves out one way or another between now and Sept 1st by which hopefully we’re looking a bit stronger squad wise. 🙂

I dont think we know who we want or conte and the board still havent agreed. Because the amount of contrasting storys mixed with the fact we STILL arnt anywhere near buying anyone would suggest we are still ‘monitoring’ alot of players. News flash. Shuts in 2 and a bit weeks

The only player we are definitley in for i would say is drinkwater

according to media Baker has rejected Bournemouth and West Ham to join Middlesbrough on loan as he wants regular game time. Bournemouth and West Ham wan ted him on a season-long loan but he wants to go to Boro where he will get much more game time in the Championship. He has 149 appearances in his career, scoring 47 goals and assisting 29 times so he cant be as bad as we all seem to believe our youngsters are and at 22 years old not exactly a youngster any longer.

Danny Rose wants to leave Sp*rs! Now the problem is I cannot ever remember a player in my 33 years ever moving from Sp*rs to Chelsea players have gone the other way like Poyet:

Serge Aurier looks like he could be heading to Manchester United a few people saying he has a agreed a 5 year deal.

Personally not bothered about him as he has baggage. I’ve watched him play a few times and he has a bit of Baba Rahman and his mistakes about him.

Ordinarily 4 signings would be considered a decent level of business. The problem is we have let too many players leave the club over the last few months. The Matic sale just astounds me and is a clear indication that our manager has no say in who comes in or who goes out.
We constantly read that Arsenal Spurs or Man United won’t sell to us as a rival and yet that’s what we seem happy to do. We are cutting our own throats.
None of us really know what is going on and the Emanalo mistakes just keep happening -why is he tolerated when managers are not?!
The strategy of the club should be communicated to us fans as it seems we no longer wish to compete at the top table in Europe. I just want to know so I can adjust my expectations and not be disappointed when we cock it up. Why let RLC go and then try and get Barkley? Why let Ake go and be in the hunt for a guy that wants to go to Liverpool? Has Roman lost interest? Is he having the wool pulled over his eyes by the likes of Emanalo and Buck? Do they not want Conte as coach -is that why they are undermining him? I wanted a summer of basking in the glory of league winners (should have been double winners but we cocked it up) and instead just got all the sh*t we had 2 summers ago. Imagine if we don’t get a win against Burnley – it’s going to be groundhog day all over!

I think this is a very difficult market. Far too much money being banded about and not enough quality players to go round so it seems many move on the feelings they have, i.e. players like Pep, VVD ssems to have a preference for Liverpool etc.

All the top clubs in England all seem to be chasing the same players as well so a highly competitive market

I cannot argue with the business we have done and what we have paid is not peanuts but we still find ourselves with less players in the squad than last season

You have to assume that the board understands the dilema that Conte finds himself in and are willing to back him. Trouble is that we are running out of quality options and time

An uncomforatble couple of weeks coming up but they could still turn out to be productive if we can get players through the door in time…? KTBFFH

    Agree with 1905 above.

On Aurier good player and would definitely add to the squad but putting aside his problematical attitude has he overthrown on appeal his jail sentence which would prohibit coming to the UK? Even with the above background there will still be plenty of takers.

My God ! Chelsea have the most incompetent board in world football. i don’t know how Marina and Emenalo will have to be entrusted to conduct a business for a club of our magnitude? more annoying is the fact that we are ignoring the advice of our manager and strengthening our main rivals and enemy no 1. which club does kind of business? and more bizarre is the fact that we are refusing to back our own manager in the transfer market. the best we can achieve this season is 6th place finish. Conte may not be around even to finish the season.and whose fault will it be?

bort – You’re such a liar – Micky Hazard joined Chelsea in 1985, and you would have been aged 1 then I guess – don’t you remember him? A very talented player actually. Also, albeit via Glasgow Rangers, Graham Roberts in 1988 – you would have been aged 4 by then – what a crap memory you must have! Roberts captained us in our last promotion season scoring a record number of penalties I seem to remember, Hard man central defender in his Chelsea days. Cant see Rose continuing the trend to be honest!

Liquidator@6:46pm you forgot the ex Spurs young Tommy Harmer whose only Chelsea goal v Sunderland came off his jock strap and got us promoted from Div 2 in 63.

Although in fairness like your example of Roberts he did come to us from Spurs via Watford. 🙂

999 – Even I’m too young for that one! I did also remember Mark Falco in the early 80’s who Spurs loaned us – bort might have been a twinkle in his father’s eyes by then! He most definitely was not to be confused with the Brazilian Falcao, of the same vintage – but several classes above!
