Hate to see Willian go, but if it were to happen lets fantasise for a few seconds. Barca have so much money following Neymar’s sale, they offer £75M for Willian, and we then take a trip up to North London and give Arsenal £60M for Sanchez. I’d go for that!

liquidator, I’d give Arsenal all of the £75m if that would get us Sanchez.?

    liquidator, ha,ha, me too.?

Tbh I would be happy to get just the Ox from Arsenal but both seem incredibly difficult transfers to pull off. Here’s hoping though. Cheers 999

Wonder what is going through Willian’s mind as last season he predominantly played second fiddle to Pedro..? We should be able to get very good money for Willian, especially if they see him as second choice to 113m Coutinhho, and so we could probably afford both Sanchez and Ox

    Anyway, back to reality….

I also wonder with regard to our transfer negotiators, how they approach a deal? We sold Matic to ManU for 40m and he is 2 years older than Drinkwater. You can easily understand why Leicester will not budge. If we really want/need Drinkwater then just offer the 40m and get the deal done. Its not rocket science is it…?

Also reading that Juve are showing an interest in Cahill. If it was me I would sell him. A mistake on 2 legs waiting to happen as far as I am concerned and with the emergence of Christensen I think we could let him go. We may even go back for VanDijk. The only issue I see is once again back to the English/home grown contingent where we fall short that could scupper any thought of a deal. KTBFFH

mtal, if the Barca interest in Willian is true it will turn his head and the majority of S.American players dream of playing for either Barca or Real.

Also the rumour is Conte doesn’t fancy him and he will revert to being a squad player when the likes of Hazard and Pedro are fully fit.

I would hope that it would be viewed at Chelsea to be very foolish to sell Willian if we don’t have the back up in place especially as we are now coming towards the end of the window.

But if Barca offer us £70/80m and maybe are agreeable to perhaps Sergi Roberto being part of that deal and if Conte rates one or both of Boga or Musonda you just never know.

Juve interested in Cahill is a bit cheeky given the run around they’ve given us this summer but if they agreed to a Sandro deal and we went out and bought Van Dijk?

Hmmmm I wonder if all three protagonists are the same poster….anyway moving on. Barca linked with Willian, Juve with Cahill. Let’s remember that Juve have refused to sanction the sale of Sandro all summer. If they want Cahill, we’ll have Sandro. Offer 30m plus Cahill. That’s the kind of hard-arsed dealing we need. Although with Alonso doing such a great job I’m not sure Sandro at 70m is necessary. As someone has already mentioned, we can’t really let another home grown player leave unless he’s replaced. Willian…I’d be sad to see him go. We’d be crazy to sell him now and borderline psychotic if we sell him first before buying a replacement. NO selling of players until replacements are purchased. Selling Cahill and Willian and buying two replacements leaves us just as thin as we are now. Our squad needs increasing not maintaining. I honestly reckon we won’t see any transfer movement until next week. Hold onto your seats lads. This ride is about to get rockier 🙂

Now we know one of the key reasons as to why Chalobah wanted out.

Chalobah has been named in the full England squad and I suspect that Southgate told him he would pick him for the full England squad but only if he was playing regularly at a PL club.

    And hey presto!

Stuilse, I doubt that mate but with little to no involvement since Sunday as 1905 has rightly said “without all the angst on here it makes for much better reading and exchanges of views”

999… sadly the club and conte failed to be able to guarantee a place in the side knowing united were circling for matic and makes our subsequent pursuit of another sometime England squad player in drinkwater all the more bemusing…

Is’t it lovely on here. Good work modders

Drinkwater – I agree with @hyllested, I don’t think he is Chelsea grade. We have let players go who could play his role equally as good, Chalobah, RLC, Ake.

Willian – I wouldn’t miss him that much. It’s not that I don’t like him it’s that he has a very low end product/return for the position he plays in. Next time you watch Chelsea try and see past the illusion that Willian is having a good game and notice all the missed placed passes and missed opportunities to score/create.

Cahill – Can’t see our new captain leaving.

I can understand everyone’s misgivings re Drinkwater although I suspect our alleged interest is more down to Drinkwater being homegrown and knowing Kante’s game as well as being happy to be considered a squad player plus probably most important of all he’s gettable.

I’m not sure what the next week will throw up but I do expect us to make some signings and still think one or two might be off the wall.

    Willy Carvalho linked today?

Roman, like you I was sad to see Chalobah go but I’m not sure how Conte could have guaranteed him a place in the side.

1 week to go and still no movement.

It’s quite unbelievable when you consider how thin our squad is that we haven’t even made a notable publicly known bid for a player since we signed Morata 19th July well over a month ago. A bunch of fake news rumour no reports of an actual bid/actual rejection.

We really need 4 players but knowing Chelsea we will only get 1 or 2 because 7 days and 4 players sounds very unrealistic now.

I agree that I thought Chalobah was going to stay with us and get more games this season. At the end of the day he wanted more than that which is disappointing but did Southgate get involved and say anything about playing for England but only with regular games…?

Must admit that Drinkwater would not have been my first option but having had the seed planted I see many plusses and I see him in the same vein as Moses – don’t think either are truly Chelsea class but at the same time will do a good job if called upon

Seems OX is just around the corner if reports are to be believed. Gone quiet on the Italian winger as well

Clearly running out of time so wonder if we are trying to play hardball and secure some kind of good deal in the final week of the window..? Would much prefer to get in and get the job done so Conte and the fans know exactly where we are…!! KTBFFH

Rumours coming thick and fast now…

Marcos Llorente from Real (midfielder apparently) and also Llorente from Swansea for 15m…?

Wonder if we will be in a position to make any announcements or even parade a new signing before the game on Sunday…? KTBFFH

Ox turns down new Arsenal contract and tells them he wants to go.

Arsenal to decide in the next 24 hours whether to grant his request.

Allegedly both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested?

1905, It’s only my gut feeling but I think Southgate played a big part in Chalobah leaving Chelsea as I believe he probably told Chalobah that he would pick him for England in a World Cup season if he was playing week in week out in the PL.

999 – hard to prove I guess but it certainly sounds feasible. I really thought he would stay as he had obviously made an impression so to go to Watford for me is a significant drop in where he could be, however, maybe he has got exactly what he has been dreaming of…? KTBFFH
