WfG, I agree Mourinho has a point re the scheduling and we should be trying to help all of our teams in Europe but there is no easy option as Johnny said if the game was on the Sunday it’s still the same number of days between the EL game and the FA Cup game as it is with the game scheduled on the Monday.

The main thrust of Mourinho’s point was scheduling the FA Cup Qtr Finals for TV before knowing what the EL game draw is and who travels where and when for those games and I think he has a fair point there but whether the Chelsea v United game is played on the Sunday or the Monday there is still the same number of days between each game either way.

“Nice to have these problems mind you. Unlike some, eh Johnny?”

I do have one problem at the moment. It’s a weird rash, can I forward you a pic?

If Mourinho gets it right he should have his players buzzing and hopping from game to game by March anyway…that’s what Fergie did when he was in his prime and he wasn’t adverse to throwing the odd hand grenade out to the media to inspire his players either.

Moans about fixture lists are as old as the Premier League itself.

It is quite possible to pour scalding hot water on your scabies three times in seven days…go on, try it.

Not sure why the go to response to criticism of Moaning Mourinho is so often to point to Whinging Wenger.

You won’t find many people defending anything that Wenger does anyway, but I’m not sure why it would excuse anything that Jose does.

Wenger gets his fair share of stick, but it’s proportionate. While they can both be d**ks, Maureen does it bigger, better and more often, ergo he gets more stick.

So that’s why they keep coming back then Johnny, scratch scratch. Grubby little mites.

Al…all managers moan, the amount of people wetting the bed about it relates directly to how big the club is. I’d rather my manager was slagging off the FA as much as possible rather than licking its incompetent bum hole.

Utd fans used to slaughter Jose when he did this at Chelsea now here they are defending him to the hilt. Ahhh the life of the fickle football fan.

Scouse liar. Always thought he was brilliant and made to be Manchester United manager.

And here we are, hopelessly and fantastically in love with each other.

Shanks – if you can point out when Jose has previously said he wished the FA waited until after the European draw was done before sorting match fixtures and then Utd fans slating him for that, then you would be on to something. My guess is it will turn out that you’ll be found to be spouting rubbish again though.

So Alfie, Jose never criticised the FA or fixture pile up whilst at Chelsea? Utd fans never slated him whilst he was at Chelsea? You must have a short memory or maybe you’re just a pork pie telling tool.

Seems a very wide net you are casting there shanksy – almost as if you were wrong to state Utd fans blasted Jose whilst at Chelsea for suggesting the TV schedule of FA Cup matches should be done after European fixtures are known but you are not man enough to admit you are full of tripe and we’re simply trying to get another swipe in at Utd fans.

nope id agree with shanksy, Maureen was hated at Chelsea and (most) Man U fans were top of the pile…you or tommy may not have personally i dont know but we all hated him at Chelsea and now we all hate him at Man U and thats because he is a prick that cant keep his mouth shut and is an odious cretin
same way the Chelsea fans that defended him (mostly) now join in the Maureen shoots

Of course you’d agree with shanksy! But you miss the point, having a go at Jose for poking a coach in the eye, abusing a female club doctor for treating a player feigning injury or entering the referees room at half time to shout abuse is one thing. Having a go at Jose for suggesting the FA cup fixtures might have been better scheduled had they waited a day or two to see about European fixtures is another. Joses crime was so minor this time that the OP had to make something up to make it seem worse than it was. A little perspective might be handy once in a while.

Jose is a knob and will no doubt do something stupid soon, just wait a week or two and you’ll be able to bash Jose quite justifiably. But seeking out any minor event to bash him gets quite boring, and making things up seems quite childish.

I don’t need understand why any manager would moan about fixture congestion. It’s Utds fault for wanting to win the Europa as well as the league cup, on top of the FA Cup. Get over it (this goes for any manager that moans).

your right of course in that i would agree with shanksy as i am an unabated ABU and hate Maureen with unhealthy passion. That said he is a tool and once or twice a week he says something to reinforce this. i also have no doubt he has had many moans while at Chelsea regarding fixtures and scheduling its what he does but then you have to be successful to play so many games (or bad and play lots of replays) 😉

childish it may be but for the non Man U fans among us it is quite fun and im sure you miss those days now you’ve had to change your tune 😛

AMZ – Jose is not moaning about fixture congestion. He said something along the lines of why couldn’t the FA Cup scheduling have occurred after the draw for the european matches had been known as there might be teams who needed to travel to Russia or eastern europe and if that was the case then the extra day would have been beneficial to them.

We might find later that Utd have a home match, or an away match that is not that far to travel and it won’t be a problem at all.

So far this season the only manager I can recall moaning about fixture pile up is Klopp (he complained about fixtures over xmas) and I don’t seem to remember a fuss being made then, especially when it was pointed out to him that had he stayed in Germany Dortmund would have played only one game less than Liverpool at the same stage.

In the interests of balance Mourinho complained about the scheduling of the crucial Liverpool PL game at Anfield in April 2014 which was live on Sky just a couple of days before the second leg of the Champions League Semi Final at the Bridge when the tie was in the balance at 0-0 and was widely criticised by all for doing so.

He probably had a point then just as he probably has a point now, it wouldn’t have been too much of a problem to hold back on the TV scheduling of the live FA Cup games until the EL draw had been done at lunchtime today and there would have been a bit more leeway now too given Spurs elimination.
