Game on!
Monaco left back Mendy having a great game. Great positioning by Mbappe for the goal.March 15, 2017 at 9:11 pm #1451195FFS Monaco are ragged back to the first leg! What the hells wrong with them! They should be going for the third to make these pricks chase two goals!!
March 15, 2017 at 9:15 pm #1451198And they’ve just been punished. Hopefully that kicks them into life.
March 15, 2017 at 9:15 pm #1451200They’re fucked. They must only train two days a week. Knackered. Game over.
March 15, 2017 at 9:38 pm #1451206Boom! Great result!
March 15, 2017 at 9:38 pm #1451208Get in!!!!
March 15, 2017 at 9:46 pm #1451212Yeeeehaaaaaa! Blue bastards. Sky have barely mentioned it. They’d be going on and on if we’d been knocked out.
March 15, 2017 at 10:01 pm #1451222Biased that’s what! F ing twats
March 15, 2017 at 10:01 pm #1451223As good as Monaco were tonight, I’m not wetting myself about their players like others. I don’t think any are the world class players that we need to fill our problem areas that of CB,DM,LB,LM and CF. Sure there are young players with potential but we got those already:
LB: Shaw
DM: Timothy Fosu Mensah
CF: RashfordTheir best player tonight, Mbappe has potential as the left-sided right footed player, but we’ve got Martial. Bernardo Silva maybe for the right-sided left footed spot, but I’m not convinced He’s the pacy, direct player we need. DM – Fabinho was good, but did he run the show? CF and CB – Monaco had none of note.
March 15, 2017 at 10:35 pm #1451236No that’s right mate, they’re just ok and we’re really good. Whatever you say.
March 16, 2017 at 3:33 am #1451250I understand the joy in seeing City fail but when you stop and think about it, it would be better for us if City and Arsenal were not able to concentrate solely on top 4.
March 16, 2017 at 7:00 am #1451256jm1502 – brilliant contribution there mate, really well thought out counter to my post …
Let me put it a different way, how many players from Monaco would you pick to fill our problem positions if you could pick from any other team in world football?
March 16, 2017 at 8:11 am #1451280But we can’t pick from any other team in the world red exile. Neymar and the like just aren’t available. But there are several at Monaco I’d have mate. After all, they have made the last eight of the top cup competition in the world. My point is, many are better than what we’ve got, including those you mention. I mean, Shaw and TFM (who I like a lot by the way) can’t even get a game for us. And you’re not telling me you didn’t enjoy Monaco’s football surely.
March 16, 2017 at 10:25 am #1451383Really enjoy watching Monaco play and that’s why I prefer playing Martial, Rashford, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, etc. as there is nothing more exciting about attacking with pace. Granted, the Monaco players all seem to be comfortable on the ball as well which is an attribute some of our players lack.
I think any one of Mbappe, Fabinho, Bernardo Silva and Lemar would be useful additions to our squad plus Mendy and Sidibe.
Pep got his tactics wrong last night and blamed the players. He told them to attack but why? They held a 2 goal lead but Monaco had 3 away goals so in order for any City away goal to count double they needed to score 4! Should have tried to hold on to what they had.
Just goes to show its not as easy when you don’t have Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Lewandowski, Robben, Vidal and co. at your disposal.
March 16, 2017 at 11:13 am #1451422Fuck me Manny, you were actually doing ok there for a minute but you just had to go and spoil it all by bringing that completely useless chump Lingard’s name into the equation!!.
March 16, 2017 at 12:28 pm #1451492Useful additions. Fuck me Manny, they’d be straight into the starting line up and more than useful.
March 16, 2017 at 12:57 pm #1451511Must admit i was disappointed in Bakayako in the two games. Goal apart, he didn’t look that strong when Monaco were coming under serious pressure. Not sure he would get in the French team ahead of either Kante or Matuidi when they have a full squad to chose from. For me, the two positions we really need to strengthen and get world class talent in are defensive midfield and up front. We’re still not potent enough up top nor solid enough in midfield. If we are going to get back to the top then we need two top players in those positions. I was hoping Bakayako had the potential to be one but after those games i’m not too sure. No doubt better than what we have at present but at a cost of £50m i’m far from convinced he is the long term solution.
March 16, 2017 at 2:23 pm #1451563Agree with you about Bakayoko N1xer. Saw him a couple of years ago and he looked better than he does now. Just not the solidity we need. Maybe the guy Kessie at Atalanta is more like it. I’d take Fabinho though, top all rounder. Anyway, I think we need two holding type midfielders, a bit like Chelsea having Kante and Matic. Of course, you’d probably say Herrera would be one but, as you know, I’m not a fan.
March 16, 2017 at 2:31 pm #1451566Blacky – Never said he was any good, just that he possessed pace 🙂
March 16, 2017 at 2:32 pm #1451567jm1502 – Haha, yeah I under-cooked that one a bit.
