I think the last line of the article encapsulates all Man utd’s problems.

What do you expect from a club more interested in making money than winning football matches?

Such has been the emphasis on commercial revenue that the board have forgotten what they are supposed to be doing. This lethargy on the admin side has run down to all levels of the club and is seen most vividly on the field.

I assure you, the fans definitely do not listen to the “Class of 92”. They’re legacy as players will never be forgotten, but as mouthpieces and talking heads? No.

The main mouthpiece is Scholes, and he witters mostly nonsense. Still backing his old mates and ignoring the real hindrances at United. He constantly defended the marketing juggernaut that is Wayne Rooney, who has somehow become bulletproof and invincible in the last 3 years. As you’ve even said about him, many believe he possesses “brutal honesty”, but he doesn’t. To those who know United, Scholes has constantly avoids the real issues, to defend old friends. He seems intent on trying to wedge Ryan Giggs into the managerial job rather than, y’know, a qualified, experienced, successful manager. He doesn’t have the club’s best interests at heart. He has Ryan Giggs’ and Wayne Rooney’s.

As for injuries, they are bad right now but they weren’t so bad in November and December which is when the wheels fell off and when we were sent packing out of an easy Champions League group and out of the League Cup at home to Boro. Last season was all about getting back in to the Champions League, and then we get punted out of it at the first hurdle, and the season is effectively over. Injuries can not alleviate that disappointment. Afterall, it was Van Gaal’s decision to possess a small squad to compete in 4 competitions.

Van Gaal is only one problem, but he is a significant problem, and he is failing to get the best out of his players. The squad, when fit, is good. Comfortably Top 4, but every single man in the squad is underperforming.
