I can’t think of manager with as much class since the late
    Bobby Robson.

Would never question his integrity, just not up to the job and never has been. Mancini’s old team won the league and cup in the first year of Pellegrini’s he’s had multi-millions to spend and we are no better, time to go.

Not sure if his team selection could have been anything other than it was tonight – my worry is we just don’t look organised as a team (especially in big games). It was also worrying how much more the Arsenal players seemed to want it. Think they won nearly every 50-50 ball which has to come down to motivation.

for me the team look like they know he is on his way out (it’s so reminiscent of the Mancini final season)

Aye the one where they sacked him on the eve of an fa cup final and we came second to fergies United. He had to sort mad mario, tevez and the big girls blouse yaya. Had no money to spend cos of ffp and was forced to sell Johnson for the useless Sinclair.
Can you imagine Pellegrini handling this, we’d be bottom six no danger.
Agree with everything else you say mind Cheers.

Bluefen I think you are right, I would not blame MP for last night though because we all know that two things are not right at City. The first, is we do not have a solid defence. second. we have no leader in the team. We have to accept for whatever reason they are not good enough at the moment. next game, Sunderland….we know NOW, that we will be up against a brick wall and they would hope to catch us on the break, We know NOW that Leicesters industry will overwhelm us, our defence is far too slow and these guys will run riot on current form. MP will not revert to a defensive mode, we also know that but in a way I do not blame him for that but our attackers are having to chase the game because our defence is woeful. Get Stones or Shawcross or both of them or its bye bye to dreams

But it is MP’s fault that we don’t have a solid defence or a leader – he is the manager and that doesn’t just mean picking your best available players when fit, it means managing the whole club so that we don’t find ourselves short like this – we aren’t Vincent Kompany FC! We have an international CB away on loan and had to play a 35year old who averaged, what 3 goals conceded per game?

But no manager can predict injuries, loss of form and making elementary mistakes on the pitch. I would have always argued a case for Denyaer staying but we are stuck with a loan period so not worth discussing this issue any more other than it was a mistake. I do not want to see any more attackers, I do want a solid defence so two CBs a top defensive midfielder would be my priorities right now.We have two choices to make….splash the cash now or right off the season and re fit the squad in the summer

Jeeze, football is getting me down of late. is this going to be another year where we could/should have won the league but we won’t???

No matter what issues we have re injuries or whatever mistakes are made during a game the one thing a manager CAN ensure is that the players are at it for 90 minutes and actually look like they give a shit. I’m sorry but 60 to 70 minutes of vertually every game we play we don’t look interested, it usually takes us to concede before we look like we are up for it. Apart from the Seville game we have been bang average for months and something needs to change and quickly while we are still in this title race. If that means MP going then so be it, I’m sick of sitting in the stands bored waiting for an error so we go behind then we try, boring!!!!

I think our lack of suitable cover for Aguero has also been shown to be an error.

As I posted elsewhere, we as a team should have a style of play and well drilled system that any individual can then fit in to.

Take your point on injuries happening to anyone – Pep only had 14 senior players available for Bayern last week, but under MP our team had never been greater than the sum of the parts

MP can’t help erratic decisions made by individuals last night true, however when taking a free kick in the Arsenal half in the last minute he could have instructed the side to push the big players forward (in order to nick a goal) and arrange cover on the half way to stop any counter attack – however he was sat on the bench not dictating play.

In addition when i looked at Arsenal when they lost possession they were quick to get back with a flat back 4 and defensive 5 sitting right in front of them – this wasn’t negative or parking the bus it was a simple tactic to be defensive solid when they didn’t have he ball – something that we have been crying out for nearly 18months – again i lay this not on individual players but the setup and organisation of the team tactics.

MP is a charming man, I love the way he handles the press but ultimately his lack of dynamism will be his downfall
