    Team news from trhe MEN

Manchester City will be without Samir Nasri and David Silva
as they travel to play Newcastle on Tuesday night.

But the Blues will be boosted by the return of Vincent
Kompany and Raheem Sterling – and the skipper could
    even start against the Toon.

Full-backs Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy will also be
missing with minor back problems, meaning Pablo Zabaleta
and Aleks Kolarov keep their places after taking part
in the 3-0 win at Chelsea.

Kompany’s return is not as urgent as it might have been,
as Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi have both stepped
up their performance level and looked good in keeping
clean sheets against Paris St Germain and Chelsea.

And Pellegrini acknowledged that, saying: “It’s not just
been in recent games, it is very important especially this
season when we have been fighting for important things
that we have a good squad.

“A lot of players have been injured this season, especially
Vincent, and between Mangala, Otamendi and Demichelis they
    have done the job.

“I am very happy with the way they are playing now, both
of them, and Vincent will be an important help for our
    defence.”

Nasri injured again. Silva not fit. Will it ever end? At the end of the season player fitness must be the number one issue. It has cost us the league this year.

Playing well, take the lead and then……We have been poor most of the half. Navas having a shocker. Fernando non existent. Yaya too easily passed. Midfield not creating. HT . Lucky to be drawing. Not good. They need a rocket up them!

Just goes to show, our best 11 is a top side, whilst we literally have nothing in the squad, at least bony got on instead of ihenancho.
Fair play to Newcastle but what a terrible goal to concede. Could do with man u dropping a few points to breath easier.

I think what is annoying is that after you think Pellergrini has learnt his lesson with the likes Bony and to a lesser extent Sterling with neither living up to their price tag. And with young Iheanacho clearly offering so much more than both yet ignored yet again and it possibly costing us more points. Picking players on price tag and not form is unforgivable.

Kompany just needed to get through 90 minutes, the goal wasnt his fault so he did fine. Well, whilst this season is far from over, we know that Pep won’t be picking any of MP’s favourites next year, it will all be done on merit and who is best to play the particular opposition …imagine that!

If he had any management nous (other than some partially interested world class players) he could have swapped the reasonable defensive but useless attacker / crossover / finisher / goal threat navas to the other wing, or put delph left back and kolarov who has passed on from can’t defend to won’t defend, as the clock ticks for him, up front where he has some interest.
Ihenacho situation with bony is some kind of in joke, perhaps we need a local journalist to grow a spine or some cojones and ask Pell wtf is going on playing this incompetent lummox instead of the city development players. Holistic in the words of Jim royle my arse!

I just cannot understand the insistance to play Bony. He just doesnt fit into the style of play. Put him on and we go down to 10 men.
