Ok where is everyone, surely there is plenty to talk about? It appears this forum is dying or almost dead so I will give it one last push.
Watching the Newcastle game I feel Roy is not the one for us, a big call but here are my reasons. Against Chelsea it was thought what a master stroke to have Wilf and Andros attack their poor defence, it worked a treat and we won. Forward one week and he uses the same line up. Why? surely horses for courses Chelsea at home is not the same set up as Newcastle away, what about Loftus-Cheek and Fosu-Mensa our best 2 players to date (bar Wilf of course) why not start them in lieu of Schlupp and PVA whose last games have been ordinary. Secondly he takes Wilf off then has the audacity to say he wanted to rest him and inject pace with Loftus-Cheek well that failed as Newcastle got their tails up once the perceived threat of Wilf was removed. Roy just a reminder, Wilf was out for 8 weeks but you made him stay on the ground last week for the full 95 minutes even though clearly he was spent at the 70 minute mark. Roy has stuffed up big time not just for the above but also in the fact he is loathe to play Ladapo up front see if he can score and if not off load him and the rest for that matter. How are we ever going to find out if these youngsters can play if you are not going to give them a go especially considering the circumstances we are in, what a waste of time and effort in having an academy. He is about as flexible as a steel pipe. I hope I am wrong. What we need is someone between a Sam and De Boer/Pardew once this campaign is over.

After yet another embarrassing defeat, there is nothing left to talk about. The octopus says we will end the season on 9 points .. I think that is being optimistic !!

Hmm… whilst things are not good, I am not ready to wear the doom and gloom hat… here’s why…

In the Newcastle game we were clearly the better side and should really have won but for some poor finishing, and we know already that we need strikers, either back fit and also to buy in January.

Seeing the game last night, it’s clear that our second string is making up the numbers and not really fit for purpose, though I think what came out of that was this… Remove Van arnholt, add soare and use Sako on the flanks to get crosses in from the flanks, perhaps to replace Schlupp if he’s not delivering. Sako showed desire and effort and end product and that is something we cannot ignore.

3 of those 4 goals last night, a reasonable keeper would have kept out, it’s not that I think Hennessey is not good enough for the prem, he’s not even good enough for the championship.. proved beyond doubt last night…

I also think rather than blowing cash on another Marquee player, we should spend around 30 mil in acquiring 5-6 either up and coming players or cheaper options from Europe, because what is clear is that we have a great first 11, capable of beating most other prem teams, but add a few injuries and the squad players to fill the gaps really weaken the side… I’d like to see Ladapo added to games with 15-20 mins to go if we are chasing a game to see if he can firstly become an impact player before throwing him into full blown games… he does have pace and late in a game that could hold an advantage…

I think Roy is the right man for us, I could see the difference in the chelsea and newcastle games that this is the case… we just need to get him some options which he can clearly see he doesn’t have.

We must not waste anymore money. The side is clearly not good enough for the premiership and we will struggle in the championship next season. The primma donnas must leave. You say that we should have beaten Newwcastle.. the game was a appalling.. we never had a shot on target. We cant rely on the opposition scoring own goals. We must offload in Jan not buy surely, as by then our fate will already be sealed !!
