It’s here lads! The month every Gooner hates. I just saw a graph of our average points totals for each month and it was scary just how bad we generally are this month – an average of 1.6 points per game. Every other month was between 1.9 and 2.2 but, at the end of the day, I doubt any of us need to see a graph to know November is rarely a good time for us.

Any month where we have the Tiny Totts, Man U and PSG to play is going to be a test, but the next few weeks are going to be a great indicator of where we stand amongst our rivals.

Essential that we get off to a good start tonight, against arguably the weakest of the opponents we’ll face this month. Looks like both Giroud and Jenkinson will get starting places. I’ve gotta be honest here – I thought Jenks was still at West Ham until I saw him on the pitch against Reading! I’ve always liked him and he’s a great back-up for Bellerin – I just hope we can keep hold of him.

Gotta reckon it’ll be Rambo and Xhaka in CM and all in all, we should have more than enough to get three points.

I can take dropping points away to Man U, but if we’re going to challenge for the big prizes this season, we have to win tonight and Sunday.

    C’MON YOU GUNNERS!!!

It’s strange isn’t it but we often start to have tough games in November and if you look at our CL history we have often played either Barcelona or Bayern, lost badly and the wheels come off. We then lose to one/two of our rivals followed by losses against sides from the lower regions of the PL. Wenger starts shaking his head and waving his arms about and the players have the attitude, here we go again, never mind we are still getting paid lets look for another club. Ludogorets should be 3 points putting us through, all that will be left will be the game for top spot at home to PSG, which we must win and then it’s two big games. Spurs and Man Utd are vital games and we must not lose either. I will be happy with 4 points from those two games, we play Spurs who will be without their two best players so we have a great chance. Last year we went into the Man Utd away game expecting to win and we were pathetic, once again they are there for the taking. If we have a good November for a change then who knows what the season may hold but we can’t afford to be complacent.

have to admit i hate november in more ways than one.we don’t
normally do well and i have to be honest and say i’m more
interested in the prem lge games than the champs lge right now.
i do think kicking off 12 noon on sunday will suit more the
spuds than us,but thats no excuse for us not being up for a
NLD.the atmosphere will be interesting that time and i always
find sunday games not as good for atmosphere than a saturday.

still,if we want to be serious title contenders this season
then we must look to win that game that will set us up nicely
for utd away.as the saying goes,”don’t try and win the title
before christmas but make sure you aint out of it either”.if
we are there or thereabouts come the new year then it’s game
on.a great champs lge run would be great as well but to use the
words of the great tony adams when he said to each and every player
come the turn of the new year to focus big time on every prem
lge game.AL,agree with you on welbeck in your response to one of
my posts.could be a huge player and fresh too.

first hurdle made, and we did make it a far larger hurdle than we should have, that said in previous going 2-0 down early would have seen us lose this, then NLD next would have gone bad etc….now just maybe, its all about sunday a win there and that’s a big big hurdle dealt with, likely to be a draw but we do need to win games like these (and more belief we can should be winning these games)

Steveo, as you say, we added a few unnecessary inches to that hurdle but, thanks in no small part to Oz, we cleared it and can now go into Sunday’s game in a much better frame of mind.

Steve, it’s a bit unholy isn’t it? From that angle, starting so early probably will aid Satan’s spawn when they arrive from the putrid depths of N17, but managers always seem to make a fuss about the extra day’s rest, which we’ve got this time round. I rarely watch Spud games (why would anyone ever do that, if their own team ain’t involved???!!!) but I will be keeping one eye on them tonight.

Shifters, funny thing is that, as hard as we made it for ourselves initially, the fact we did come back from 2-0 down might actually have been better for us than a comfortable win.

Al, It started to look like deja vu but the come back was special. What an enjoyable game to watch, not a decent defence in sight. I’m not Ozil biggest fan, I recognise his talent but his failure to stamp any sort of authority on the big games or when it’s going pear shaped has always annoyed me but that goal was sheer class. We will know the effects of fighting back for the 3 points on Sunday, beating The Spuds will make it a great week.
