When I heard the Burton result last week, I immediately resigned myself, with dejection and gloom, to the inevitable. This feeling has sat heavily with me for the better part of the week. Somehow, as Saturday draws nearer and hopes are being rekindled in Yorkshire and elsewhere, through a discussion of the various permutations, I’m once again feeding off that final bit of hope. We have already beaten Norwich twice this season. Fulham, Reading and Sheffield Wednesday, like any other team on their day, can be vulnerable. So here we are, going in to do battle in a desperate-do-or die situation.

I shall, like last week, miss out on the excellent radio commentary of Adam Pope and the “gettt innnns” of Noel Whelan. Will have to wait with bated breath and nervous anxiety for updates on what is going to be a frenetic afternoon of football. To those attending the match, sing loud and proud and help the boys to cross the line.

    Heart breaker!

I’ve learnt to live with it. It’s become something of a way of life: the disappointments of ’70, 71, 72, 73, 75, the pain of ’82, the disaster of 2004 and beyond…

Will never cease to love this team.

In our heart of hearts we all knew this was coming. It still hurts to be looking at the parties going on elsewhere and to have missed out on the invitation AGAIN!

This last bit against Norwich was not enough and too late. C’est la vie.

We Are Leeds and we will dust ourselves down and get ready to go again.

    Leeds till I die.

    Keep the Faith.

    Greetings from South Africa

More than 48 hours have passed and the pain is slow to expunge itself out of my system. No appetite for news from Elland Road or what’s happening on the any of the forums, at this time. Haven’t given much thought, either, to all the speculation concerning Cellino, Rad and Monk’s future. I should recover, fully, within the next few days to start thinking on these and other things.

Fortunately, my dear family is keeping me going as we take in the beauty that the fairest Cape in all the world has to offer. Those autumn leaves are turning in all their splendour, here, as the first blasts of winter can be heard in the distance. I shall follow the run-in to the Premier league and the FA Cup final but will definitely give the play-offs a miss. It would be too painful to watch!

Cheers, until next time, to the few dear souls on this site.

    Gutted! 🙁

Really thought we would do it, the most annoying thing is a win out of any of the following:- away at Brentford, away at Reading, home to Wolves, away at Burton, would have seen us set for a final day finale, you would back us for at least a couple of them but not a single point… but in that same period of matches we took 4 points from home to Brighton & Away at Newcastle…!

I know it is the trademark of the championship but the inconsistency this season was crazy!!

Well ho-hum… thinking… can Wendies smash 5 past Fulham and can we beat Wigan 9-0
Now that would be crazzy!! 😉
