Last night I think Ozil really arrived as the world-class player we’ve been waiting for. He’s had a very good eighteen months overall and, in my personal opinion, has probably been our best and most important player over that period, but I’ve been waiting for him to have the kind of match-winning moment he had when he scored that goal last night.

Bergkamp used to do it, Henry used to do it – even educated flees van pur$ie used to do it – that moment of individual brilliance that turns a draw into a win in a crucial game.

I thought Wenger’s breakdown of the goal summed it up perfectly – a brilliant piece of skill to get passed the keeper and then, you just wanted him to shoot…..but it was still a tough shot with two defenders bearing down, so he took them out too, just to make sure!

Lots of other talking points about the game but the rest are a bit too depressing and a bit too familiar, so I’m just going to savour the moment our German superstar finally became the player I’d hoped we were signing three years ago.

It was class without a doubt but it also won the game. He made the run, he showed desire, skill, and he was cool. Most importantly though he did something decisive and key in winning the game. Lets see more of it for the rest of the season.

Let’s not undermine the vision and pass from elneny either. Great bit of play and for me he is like our new Romford pele. Very useful squad player who doesn’t mind being a squad player and never lets you down when he plays.

Good shout about El Nenny. A player who is the antithesis of Ramsey; he keeps it simple and plays within his ability. Nothing fancy, just effective. Great player to have on the bench. That said, if Ramsey can clean up that annoying part of game, that is the flicks, back passes etc… I am happy to have Arsenal benefit from undeniable his engine. I hope the Arsenal that played Chelsea show up On Sunday.

Morning gents. I’m really glad people have touched on the contribution of Elneny. I think this guy is a fantastic player for our squad. Sometimes it’s easy to forget he is only 24 as well. He plays with a great deal of maturity and to be honest I have never seen him play poorly. He just seems to be really reliable in possession and knows exactly what his job is on that field.

Completely agree about Elneny. He’s another, like Coquelin, who just does a solid, no frills, no fuss job and does it well. I don’t think we’ve seen anywhere near the best we’re going to see from him and he strikes me as the sort of player who’ll be happy where he is, as long as he’s getting game-time. I can see him still here in his 30s.

One major debate amongst us Gooners is what our best CM pairing is (still Caz and Coq for me, but that’s probably because it’s the most established one) and I think the reason it’s so hard to decide isn’t because we have so many players who can play there, but because they’re all so different in style and each one brings something different to the team.

Al – Ozil has certainly impressed his major doubters up until now this season. The thing is that that position simply demands a goalscoring attacking midfielder along with his creativity for the system we play in.Ozil not only managed to score his first career hat trick in a competitive game, but he is getting himself into better positions espescially making runs in behind the defense.

I have one criticism of him, there are some chances where he gets and he scuffs it so poorly it really makes you wonder “Wow,did that really happen”.Like his chance where alexis put him through against sunderland or his chance in the early stages against Ludogorets.I also tend to reserve my judgement, there are a lot of big games coming up and the season is far ahead.Goals is something he’s always been lacking from his locker, alongside winners. If he can manager a goal tally of even 13-15 goals it would be a fantastic tally in the PL for him!Again we’ll just have to wait and see, and then we can announce him to be the world class player we’ve all been so hesitant to say he is.

TSO, this is another difference when Giroud isn’t playing – our attacking line is a lot more fluid. Giroud can only play centrally, where as the rest of our attacking players can all interchange, including Oz.

Al – I’ve never made a case For Giroud being good enough to lead the line for us.Defended him from Overcriticism, yes.But never thought he even fits our system.A great back up striker yes probably the best but we need someone with pace upfront.

Just for any future clarifications,I do not despise this current system of Sanchez playing as a centre forward. Not at all.It has seemed to work for us until now in certain games, it offers a certain unpredictably in our frontline.
What I said was I simply don’t see Alexis a centre forward in the long run.In other words,Would I be confident with that same system if we were going to play any of the big teams away? No,persoannly not.I’d rather see a Diego costa, benzema, higuain upfront with Alexis flanking them. But the fact that we don’t have one right now(wenger’s fault),I understand wenger wanting to try newer things.

Yes it was pleasing to see him score a goal like that as we all know he has that in his locker. But still do expect more from him sometimes yes he seems to be on the back of good form getting himself in the box and more dangerous positions but think we should expect the same level of performance for the foreseeable future once we sign him to a new deal a second he is now in his peak years. But I also believe the team setup does effect on what influence ozil has on the team

As good as that goal was up until then he was annoying me with his usual, lazy arse I have given the ball away but I will just let you go, attitude . I have learned to forgive this now and accept we defend with 10 players and that he is human so when he misses chances and looks like he is not bothered it’s just him. I forgive it, because of things like the goal last night and his assists and vision. Great player but will never be a legend.
