According to the press, the German has instructed his agent to follow up a proposed £42m move to Barcelona and the Chavs have been given “sufficient encouragement” to land Ox for £35m. Which, if any of these is true? I’d be happy for Ozil to go for any fee as he is a liability in most games, especially away from home or in the Champions League. He is also a weak coward who would be protected in Spain where they blow for a foul every 5 minutes, As for Ox, he’s been messed around so much and as stated before, he played in six different positions last season. He is fast, skilful, can dribble and tackle with a great, committed attitude. I also think he’s a better long-term bet to accompany Xhaka in the middle as Ramsey invariably plays for himself and not the team when he does appear.Ox needs an extended run in this slot and certainly not on the left! He’s one of my favourite players and would be a real shame to lose someone, so talented and still young. If Wenger sanctions this, he’s more of a fool than he appears.

Like you Jeff, I’m also a big fan of the Ox and I’ll be gutted if he joins the Chavs. Our transfer policy is all over the place, I agree with some on this forum we are stuck with underachieving players, who are refusing to move on because of their high wages. To have so many players with 1 year left on their contracts is beyond a joke, and to have the manager think it’s a good idea, shows we as a club are not as well run as we thought we are.

United fan coming in peace. Had a chat with an Arsenal friend of mine and Ozil came up and he told me that he thinks he falls into the same category as Sanchez – a player that does what he can but can’t do miracles with the team as it is. I also saw Troopz’s ratings of the team on ArsnealFanTV and saw he gave Ozil a better rating than others and he said he thought he tried. From what I’ve seen of him I don’t really agree with that statement and see Ozil as more of a sulker who can barely put a shift in when the team needs it; against Leicester on the opening day I thought he and Mahrez were the worst players on the pitch because they both didn’t look bothered.

What is the general thought of the Arsenal fans here? Is he a sulker or are his performances just a bi-product of the issues you guys are having right now?

On your overall season – keep strong lads. It’s still early days and new signings may invigorate the team before Thursday; we’ve had our fair share of humiliations at the hands of Liverpool and City too – part and parcel of the game unfortunately.

Thing with Ozil is, his stats will always tell a better story than what really happened. Yes, he’ll always create a load of chances and make a number of key passes, but it’s like he thinks that’s all he needs to do. It’s like he thinks that if he sets up a few attacks, he can just stand around and watch the match for the rest of the time.

Don’t get me wrong, if the rest of his team-mates were pulling their weight, his real value would shine through. The term ‘luxury player’ has never fitted anyone so aptly and when the rest of the team are on fire, he’s invariably one of the best players on the pitch. But he’ll never be one of those players who will grab a game by the scruff of the neck.

i don’t get ozil’s criticism of ex afc players who have hammered
their inept performances.the big question i’d ask him is what about
you and your performance, and where the hell is your commitment to
the club in getting the ball rolling in keeping our so called
best players.it’s might be ok for you to not know if you’re going
to sign a new contract at the club but for us fans it’s the same
old, same old,all talk no action.if you love the club as much as
you say then why not sign and at least be seen in setting the
example for other’s to follow.footballers have nothing but marsh
    mallow minds.it’s all about oneself.

Steve68, I agree. He is just playing up to the cameras and the media, making himself out to be proud to wear the badge and try and take pressure off of him, or to look better in light of Sanchez debacle. He is a complete joke. How many times in big games does this guy perform. His comments on being proud to be a Gooner make me sick. For me, he is a flop. Potential and quality is there. For us, I’ve rarely seen it. I wish we had shipped him out. He was a panic buy. I remember specifically being at a wedding and hearing we were gonna sign him, thinking.. we don’t need him, we need a striker. Typical Wenger. All of this is on Wenger’s shoulders. How many times has he subbed Ozil.. Sooner they both f off the better… and the whole comparison to the Iceman… don’t make me laugh. He couldn’t even clean Dennis’ boots!
