Liverpool are planning a £30m swoop for a Marseille striker, while Europe’s top clubs are planning a swoop on Tottenham for Harry Kane.

Dont know why Liverpool dont put in for Vardy. Maybe 40mil. Hes a definate winner ! Save gambling on a Frenchman

Anything which happened to John Moss was completely of his own making after such an incredibly inept display. If normal people turned up to work and performed so badly then there would be consequences (probation, written warning, sacking etc) so why dont the refs get similar punishments when they fail so spectacularly?

Olly22 £40m for Vardy? Are you serious? We’ve spent money like that on overpriced players before,no thanks. The lad has had one good season in the Prem, and you think we should pay £40m? His team just avoided relegation last year, where was he then? And who’s to say he’d perform for us the same way he’s performed for Leicester?

always happens, over priced english players due to one half decent season, good shout on the previous year ST. you lot dont need another Carrol, Benteke,Lambert…and so on so forth!

Kane would be the exception to this rule but even then because he has shown the same consistency and ability over 2 season and looks to be getting better, the other thing i like about Kane and the spuds must love is he is def not a sick note!

Stevo Kane is a great player, reminds me a bit of Teddy Sheringham. I’d definitely take Kane, but not Vardy. Vardy would be a massive risk,Kane has,as you say, done it for over 2 seasons, and he looks the real deal. In any case,I don’t think we’d have a chance of getting either tbh

Got no chance of getting Kane, that’s for sure! You’d have better odd’s on getting Rooney or me getting Belinda Carlisle (from 25 years ago)! 🙂

no i would say he is fairly untouchable just at the minute, that said if a truly massive offer came in from Real, like silly Bale money, be interesting to see how Levy the board deal with that…..season past they would have booked the jet for Knae and rolled in the dosh, now? maybe less so…..

Steve… I think they had no choice to take the Bale money after Bale requested a transfer, then it was all about screwing them for the biggest check possible. As for Kane, there seems to be a unity amongst the players that I’ve never recalled in a Spud shirt, I think he would stay just to see how far this team could go…or maybe that’s just wishful thinking! 🙂

I think even Levy know’s he would be lynched, literally, right in the middle of the pitch at the Lane, if he forced the move right now…not even he’s that dumb!

Fact is,that if you’re gonna spend £40m on a striker, you wouldn’t pick Vardy. You’d pick the likes of

    Neymar
    Aubameyang
    Cavani
    Benzema
    Lewandowski

The Vardy story is similar to Lukaku. Everton apparently value him at £65m. Nonsense, absolute nonsense. Why would you spend that on him, when you could go for the strikers mentioned above, for a similar price?

none on that lsit other than MAYBE Benzema cos of his pending court troubles would be anywhere near £40m thats why, i rate Lukaku now as good as Aubameyang and in a top team would be even better scores plenty in a poor everton team

there is also availability and willingness to sign, even IF we had the cash and we WANTED to spend it, would neymar leave Barca for us? no Suarez? No….

pretty much everyone else is Bale money and above so if you £40-£60

    Lukaku? Yes

not vardy for me and £40m is still well over priced but english players always are..

what does £40m really buy you these days?!!!!!

Stevo,I think Fenway would sell Sturridge for that (I personally wouldn’t, but they’re only interested in the money). If I were a top club, would I take a gamble (because of his injury record) and bid for Sturridge for £40m? Yes,without a doubt, because he’s a goalscorer, and a matchwinner

steveo – you have to be careful (not you personally) with players like lukaku. seen it so many times before when a striker bangs them in for fun at mid / lower table club, get their move and then fail. being a big fish in a small pond is often better than being a small fish in a big pond. i think he is very good and would love to see what he is capable of at a bigger team.

i totally get you and agree mate, i just dont personally see Lukaku in this bracket, he was a top top youth wanted all over Europe when Chelsea bought him and of he had more patience and didnt have to get past the Drog! and Maureen used more younger players he would still be there worth £100m, but he wanted regular football not just cash, thats another plus for me and lets be honest yes he is a big fish at everton but he plays with poorer players low on confidence and still bangs them in, he is consistent over a season in the PL, i think he would fit for any top club in the mold of the others on STs list

It would take an extremely juicy carrot topped with doner meat and chilli sauce for Spurs to sell Kane, if we don’t do it this year there will be other years. The squad is fantastic and unmatched in every position I feel. With the new stadium, world class training facility and all tha filthy lucre from tv deals who would want to leave white hart lane at the moment? MoPo still has to see how far this squad can go. Bit like fergies Manu in the 90’s
