The hypocrisy from Liverpool, their ex players and fans is unbelievable. This whole Coutinho saga couldnt have come along at a better time. Total reality check after these clowns were giving us their bile about VvD. The joke is, half the lot posting are to stupid to see the hypocrisy in their comments. If Coutinho had stayed loyal to Liverpool he could have ended his career with as many league titles as Gerrard. Clubs like Barca dont come knocking every year. Set Coutinho free!
August 13, 2017 at 1:20 am #1516209Congratulations to Liverpool (and Dortmund) for sticking by their guns. Both Barca and Real too should realise that the times are changing. They can no longer just have anybody they like at their beck and call. I think the Neymar story and its aftermath is the beginning of the end of their mystical power over the minds of the best players in the world. It might take Real a bit longer to get their comeuppance. Hopefully they won’t be allowed to snatch Hazard at the last moment of the transfer window.

August 15, 2017 at 3:01 pm #1517376@shanksy – Did you forget your medication? No complaints from Southampton fans when Liverpool picked their bones for Lallana and Clyne etc as it was a step up and now Liverpool fans living up to their stereotype and crying their eyes out over this. Barca is a massive leap up from Liverpool, you haven’t won your own domestic league in over 25 years and don’t look like winning anything soon. The lad wants to go on and achieve greater things and has been a good player for you so get the best price you can and move on. Barcelona are a great club and Monsieur Coutinho will win trophies with them. Good luck Herr Coutinho. Enjoy all the trophies in your new career at Real Barcelona.
August 15, 2017 at 4:00 pm #1517404Would rather a player that wants to leave for footballing reasons rather than leave for nothing when my club wouldn’t pay him enough and then return for a massive fee once my club agrees to pay also huge wages, that shows love for the club lol 🙂
August 15, 2017 at 5:23 pm #1517442Honestly, I think I’ve entered an alternate universe here, with some of the praise he’s getting. Is he a God of the game? He was an Inter reject, and they loaned him out to Espanyol out of desparation. Snapped up by LFC as a lucky punt, but predictably achieved nothing. Won a few friendlies. So inconsistent, looks occasionally flashy out of luck more than ability, a bit like Nasri. Just because Barca are apparently sniffing around, the price is in the stratosphere. Any normal valulation for him would be around the 14M mark, and whatever team he goes to better get used to playing like they’re a man down.
August 18, 2017 at 1:29 pm #1518999As it stands now, it doesn’t look like Coutinho is going anywhere.
Ok, well done Klopp. But is it good for the morale of the squad to have a key player that in his heart wants to be somewhere else?Karren Brady (West Ham executive) said in The Debate on Sky that when Dmitri Payet wanted to go, there was only ever going to be one outcome of that situation. She and everybody at West Ham agreed that it was in best interest in the club and mainly the squad of players, to let Payet move on. Otherwise he could have had a really negative influence in the dressing room.
I have to agree with her on that.On the other hand, all we know of the Coutinho matter is from the media. He might be under the influence of some greedy agent and doesn’t really want to go. What do we really know?
If he really wants to go, there’s no point in hanging on to him. Liverpool should then insist on getting someone, like Rakitic, in return because of what’s left of the transfer window.
August 18, 2017 at 10:38 pm #1519296Not sure what is more odd…Barcelona offering £120m for Coutinho or Liverpool for rejecting it?
August 18, 2017 at 10:45 pm #1519301The only way for Liverpool to win anything is if the club stops selling out of the first team.
Tma, do Liverpool fans think that just because the club has made a bid for Van Dijk, that he should be sold?
So’ton got every right to hold onto the player but it might be hard with them not being in the Champions League.I very much doubt that the two players will go to the same length to force a move through and you know what, Barca will come knocking every year for Coutinho or have you forgotten every window for the past 3-4 seasons.
August 18, 2017 at 11:16 pm #1519311Details of the so called mammoth bid of €115m are made up with over 30m in unrealistic add ons, ie multiple ballon dor wins and multiple cl wins. Also they want to pay the only guaranteed amount of 80m in instalments over 5 years.
Rightly liverpool told them to go blow themselves.
Day one answer was the player is not for sale so either pony up 150m or jog on.August 19, 2017 at 9:01 pm #1519800“Set him free”. What a joke, like you did with de gea? I am sure they will let him go once barca pays his worth which I hope will be closer to 150. I hope he’ll stay though.
August 20, 2017 at 7:14 pm #1520192I think a fee will be settled for Coutinho but not this year, that offer is a gutterball. 16 million upfront for a talent such as Coutinho is ridiculous.
August 20, 2017 at 9:41 pm #1520256£16m up front????
I agree Barca need to show they are serious if they want to sign Coutinho and put their best up front bid in.
Klopp seemed to give mixed messages re Coutinho in his latest interview?
I suspect if Barca put the money on the table Coutinho will be gone.
August 21, 2017 at 11:47 am #1520456999>> what has prompted your U-turn? You posted (twice) on the Liverpool pages “….if I was a betting man I would be betting on Coutinho still being at Liverpool on Sept 1st.” Barca were always going to put the money on the table.
August 23, 2017 at 9:10 am #1521271Apparently Barcelona are willing to put in a fourth bid for coutinho of £138m.How desperate are they,I mean surely Liverpool have had the upper hand ever since the negotiations started even though coutinho has refused to play for them again. They might as well demand whatever Neymar’s transfer fee was worth.
I think ultimately coutinho will be sold, might go down to the last day of the window. All these excuses Klopp is making for coutinho not being available,I don’t believe for a second.
A manager like hi wouldn’t want someone who dosen’t want to be there.Besides they’ve signed a class player in mo salah. -
