For me, Can is our best CM. Also with great potential. Hendo and Wij are ok, not more. Milner also ok, but gettind old. Grujic unproven. Keita not here yet. The rest attacking minded. I think our squad is just too thin in CM/DCM area and Can is our top player. Would really hate to lose him. Please keep Can!

Can is a good player, not yet still a game-changing first teamer but he’s very important. I’m a little annoyed at the fact that Can hasn’t really had a rest for a long time. Last summer he played in the Confederations Cup, this year world cup, years before he was part of u23 tournaments, its a wonder he hasn’t burnt out already. I think that is something Keita will help with, he will help the likes of Can to get a break. I think his performances sometimes are underwhelming when he’s overplayed.

Also, I was listening to a podcast and heard he gets occasional unnecessary stick from the crowd. Guys if you are going to support your team then do that, don’t go to slag someone off like its the Roman Colleseum. Slagging someone off isn’t going to help with their confidence levels, there’s no need.

Mac I get the feeling he wants to go. As I said great player on his day just a little inconsistent. I’d keep him as long as he wasn’t asking for parity with the top earners. That being said it’s odd that Klopp hasn’t nailed him down like you would expect. Does he see something we don’t I just don’t know ….

Prefers a slower league. You did see him tracking back for the Everton first goal. That was a joke.

have to disagree re keeping him. playing a high pressing game we will lose the ball and need pace from midfield to get back to support the defence. We need more pace in midfield – Can, Gino and Hendo lack pace. We can’t keep all 3 as we need more pace in midfield. Gino is best of the 3, i believe. That leaves Can and Hendo. Can doesn’t impress me much -hasn’t done much to light up the team, grab a game by scruff of its neck or dig deep etc. Looks nonplussed all the time plus, clearly not committed in the long term….not just a case of a release clause..they want a ‘reasonable’ release clause i heard…that coupled with he just doesn’t fit leaves me to wishing him well but there is the door…

I think we’ll do fine without him. He’s inconsistent and doesn’t want to be at Anfield, two good reasons to let him go. BTW, he is forcing the move, not LFC.

I would much rather he stays but don’t want a player who doesn’t want to be part of the LFC family. We could have made a few pennies on him although we only paid £10M so not a huge loss financially. central midfield is an area of concern going into the summer. Hendo has fitness issues & is also bang average Gini been below par this season IMO. We have got Naby coming in still not sure how Klopp will use him looks like Goretzka is going to Bayern. So i would expect at least one player coming in for that DM/CM role.

Rumours that Can has signed a new contract with us.

Does this Instagram post mean new Emre Can contract imminent?

    Good news if so.

The way he is celebrating goals makes me think that his mind is not made up to leave. That incident where Blaise Matuidi has been racially abused might even be a turn off for the Juve interest.

He’s been our best midfielder this season and will only get better.

Emre Can reveals he is still in contract discussions with Liverpool

He has started to show good form, is a bit quicker and closing down players earlier as a reason, I want him to stay. The club should not be losing out on talent such as Can.

NB agree especially on a free. He needs to sign a new contract. After being involved in the match Sunday he must have thoughts how could he walk away from a team playing such good footy in an unbelievable atmosphere. If he loves the game he will sign
