Wiltspur, enjoy the game tonight. I too have been trying to get to WHL before it disappears but find it hard to get any tickets. It’s going to have to be Wembley for the Champions League games.
Also you have not actually given me your prediction!
CheersSeptember 21, 2016 at 5:47 pm #1232223There’s still a couple of hours left for the rest of you to put in your predictions…
September 21, 2016 at 6:23 pm #1232328Chalk me down for a 4-0 win against Gillingham and a 1-0 win at Boro.
September 21, 2016 at 6:34 pm #1232358Thud – put me down for a 2-0 victory my friend. This will be my last post on this page, so I think it’s appropriate that it should be on the “prediction league” thread.
Thanks to all of you guys who made my time on the Spurs page a most enjoyable experience, but it’s time for me to move on.
All the best guys.
Bloggs.September 21, 2016 at 11:07 pm #1233258Bloggs, sorry to see you’re the latest regular to call it a day here.
The new TT just hasn’t been what we’d all hoped it would be, and between the relative ghost town that is the Spurs page, and the high ratio of abusive posts on the general page, I get it.
If truth be told, I’ve struggled to find motivation to post more regularly for the same reasons.Anyway, thanks for the chats, take care of yourself and I look forward to crossing paths again out there in the ether someday.
Good luck friend,
Bren“REPLY”
Thanks Bren, appreciated and reciprocated.
Cheers old friend,
Bloggs.September 22, 2016 at 4:38 am #1233468Hi Bloggs
Very sorry indeed to note you are calling it a day. Over the years your articulate and eloquent posts have been the mainstay of this page and your creation of the “prediction league” one of the things that kept it alive when it was dying on its feet!
I have really enjoyed chatting with you, and , most of the time, have agreed with your comments and wry observations. In fact I would have to say they kept me from “hanging up the keyboard” myself a long while ago!
Wish you all the best my friend,
ScoffySeptember 22, 2016 at 11:08 pm #1236342Bloggy, sorry to see you go. All the best buddy.
Come back and post when Spurs win something at the end of this season…September 22, 2016 at 11:57 pm #1236369Thud, Scoffy and Bren,
Thanks for the kind words, they were much appreciated.
However embarrassing as this is, in the words of the great Mark Twain, it seems that reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!
Apparently a loss of privileges on the board, rather than a total ban, is the appropriate punishment for the decision I took last night…One can only wonder at the lack of editorial control on this forum…It does however mean that I am free to continue to kick arse in the Prediction league after all!!
Cheers Bloggs.
September 23, 2016 at 11:11 am #1237146Bloggy,
In that case welcome back from the “dead”. I won’t ask what you did to think that you were going to be banned. Maybe it’s on the other team pages??!!?
I personally don’t go on the other pages as firstly don’t have the time and secondly only really want to read stuff about Spurs and what the other fellow Spurs fans think.
Need to get drum up some advertising for the prediction league. The more spurs fans predicting means that more fans coming onto the Spurs page and therefore more commentsSeptember 23, 2016 at 11:12 am #1237149My prediction for tomorrow, Janssen with a brace, Boro 1 – 2 Spurs.
Cheers
ThudSeptember 23, 2016 at 12:52 pm #1237332The_Thud,
According to the latest results you appear a ways out in front!
Just coincidence..? 🙂
It seems Mr Bloggs is after your blood. You need to watch him, he has a habit of copying others predictions in order to derail his opponents results!
September 23, 2016 at 2:50 pm #1237638Thud… 1-2 to Spurs.. Dele and Janssen with the goals.
September 23, 2016 at 8:47 pm #1238100Glad to see you’re not leaving Bloggy. I think we’ll win 2-0 tomorrow Thud.
September 24, 2016 at 1:00 am #1238523Bloggy, I must admit that I have been absence from the prediction league this year and was upset when I read your news that you were leaving. If you stay on the page i promise to be involved so Thud put me down for 1-1 tomorrow. Bloggy will understand
JuanitoSeptember 24, 2016 at 4:43 am #1238544Hi Thud
2-0 to Spurs today thanks.
BestSeptember 24, 2016 at 2:55 pm #1239501Hi Thud,
Spurs to win 3-1
Cheers Bloggs.
September 27, 2016 at 4:33 pm #12441392-1 to Spurs please Thud
September 27, 2016 at 7:15 pm #1244268This is a tough one for me to call Thud given our ever going injury list…and my embarrassing lack of knowledge regarding tonight’s opposition!
Going with an optimistic 3-1 win for the boys, purely based on the fact that we better start winning some of these group games if we don’t want our top four placing last season to be a complete waste of time.
All the best my friend.
Bloggs.September 28, 2016 at 7:30 am #1244724Been away for a bit so no posts. What made you think of leaving Bloggy? Like many of us here I use some other Spurs forums on occasion because there is more going on and lots more people. But I like coming here because it feels more like a ‘local’. Look there’s old scoff in the corner walking his dog, luckserk at the bar buying a round, Wiltspur and Thud playing dominoes and Lamela11 playing the fruit machine. I know that new themed pub down the road is tempting and it does sell cheaper beer, but stick with us and I’ll have a word with Doris behind the bar and see if they will throw in a free bag of pork scratchings with your next pint.
September 28, 2016 at 11:54 am #1245216Haha, nice one Ricky. I s’pose by your analogy I’d be the old drunk, always to be found sitting in the corner, making a nuisance of himself! Good to have you back posting my friend.
