Killyboye – I disagree. Some people are naturally fat, some are naturally thin. I have a mate who is naturally thin. He’s tried to put on weight and bulk up but he can’t. He doesn’t like wearing shorts because his legs are so thin. I know others who eat healthy and do just as much exercise as others but they are still struggle to maintain a healthy BMI. To suggest everyone is the same and benefits the in the same way by doing the same amount of exercise and healthy eating is misguided IMO.
November 18, 2016 at 11:03 am #1320871It is all about genetics. My body is like Hercules, but that is because of my hard work at the gym. I know people who have been training for years and still struggle to pack muscle. They have trained with me and followed the same diet as me. Thankfully my pops use to go to the gym and I must have picked things up from him. That is the only answer.
November 18, 2016 at 11:21 am #1320910My body is like Hercules?! ????
November 18, 2016 at 11:38 am #1320937Lol.
November 18, 2016 at 1:30 pm #1321123There is a difference between physiology and being fat/thin. Abilty to build muscle is different to ability to lose weight. Losing and maintaining weight requires constant discipline even after you’ve lost the weight, hence yo-yo effect where people diet, lose weight then stop watching what they eat, stop exercising and put the weight on again. Metablism will speed up but has to be maintained. Even so called skinny people will start gaining weight as they get older even if only in certain places, stomach etc. No-one is the same, diet exercise needs to be specific so what works for me won’t necessarily work for others and vice versa
November 18, 2016 at 1:54 pm #13211922 lads at my work place cycle to work. 1 is fairly skinny, cycles only once or twice a week, a journey which is 20 mins, but trains 4 times a week, he struggles to pack anything on. The other is fairly stocky, wants to lose weight and cycles in 4 times a week, mostly a 30-40 minute journey according to him, eats all the right stuff, yet still cannot shift the pounds. That is why I am basing my theory on it all to do with genetics.
Unless you get these terrible synthetic supplements called fat burners or go on the juice, which play about with your hormones and metabolism, your body will just do what it is genetically meant to do.
November 18, 2016 at 4:01 pm #1321426The issue seemed to have de- generated to genetics,Hercules and laurel and hardy species, diets, cyclists and what not over here.
While on the serious side, the FA wants to investigate further as it appears Wayne did not even heed his manager’s advice to ”finish off for the night”,Jose simply chose to smartly sidestep the whole issue, stating, that,England’s business is not Mourinho’s,[herr klopp are you listening ?], and the only thing that is of interest to him is that Wayne is good to go for United.
It is, therefore, useless for the simple minded people, the fans,to worry too much about the incident, since it did not happen while on United’s watch.
It might even end up Wayne scoring the winning goal against the arse which would see happy riding his high horse with unlimited aplomb and gusto.[Black beware as stranger things have happened in football].
November 18, 2016 at 4:45 pm #1321492Haha @emmicallef,it would be far more likely to be a Blackpool donkey than a ‘high horse’ if that were to happen mate!.?
November 18, 2016 at 8:02 pm #1321699Black, never visited Blackpool so I cannot vouch on your ‘donkey’but I am long in the tooth and will not be surprised by what can happen in life and particularly in the game of football.
In actual fact,as per usual, my money will be on United and if Rooney starts I will bet on him scoring as per yesteryears, even though all pointers are listing the game as a score draw.
Honestly,my grudge on this issue is because while the team’s situation requires, nay, demands that everyone puts in a 120 to the usual 100 worth of effort, passion and commitment, the man who has been lording it up there for the last 10 years, sends an ”I don’t give a f”k ” message. At the same instance, you have a foreign player discarded without a valid official reason who is trying his best to simply get a look in,but up to now has not even been given a nod of acknowledgement for his positive attitude.
I will tell happy to go easy with you if the Blackpool donkey happens to fly tomorrow,he,he,he.
November 18, 2016 at 9:12 pm #1321765emmicallef-Wish i could share your optimistic thinking about tomorrow`s game pal.Would take a draw right now.
November 18, 2016 at 10:21 pm #1321798Rooney should be judged on one thing and one thing only….his performances on the pitch. If his fitness is good and he’s getting about the pitch well, his first touch is sure and composed and he’s in an amongst the goals then who cares if he’s wandering around at parties at five o clock in the morning bleary eyed and incoherant? It isn’t like the two are linked…are they?
November 19, 2016 at 3:48 am #1321900TS7 – I agree ultimately its what happens on the pitch that matters but there IS linkage between partying and fitness, between passion for a pint and passion for performance.
A young George Best could maybe party and perform but not a 31 year old Best. Rooney is no George Best. That’s the issue. His performances are not good and his late night, at a time he needs to be focused on regaining his place, may indicate a deeper problem with attitude.
November 19, 2016 at 10:10 am #1322050Mac-Spot on mate,but one thing i don
t get is,why can
t they arrange to go out when they don`t have a game coming up so soon!.Say if United play/ed Saturday afternoon,go out by all means, but then take few days to train and work hard.Surely heavy drinking cannot be part of their daily lives!.November 19, 2016 at 10:34 am #1322089Whooooooosh….I don’t think you needed to make the point for me Mac!
November 19, 2016 at 10:51 am #1322107redblood – Had it been me, I would have got plastered before the meaningless game against Scotland then laid off the booze before the Arsenal game.
TS7 – ???? I disagree with you. You say off field boozing and on field performance are not related. I say they are for a 31 year old who has lost form and place in the team.
November 19, 2016 at 10:53 am #1322110The thing with Rooney is he is useless on the pitch. Getting pissed doesnt help him either but it will the club as we can offload him quicker.
So i say,go on party Rooney.
November 19, 2016 at 11:19 am #1322155Mac – Why are you undermining the Scotland result so much? Anything but meaningless my friend. National pride was at stake and they smashed Scotland 3-0. Then the whole squad went out on the lash to celebrate. Lots of things to debate about behaviour, role model etc – but the importance of beating Scotland shouldn’t be one of them.
November 19, 2016 at 12:17 pm #1322278Ha, the Mac touched another sore point. I say I want to go along with giving undue notice to beating Scotland the brave, would that be enough of a reason/excuse to step out of line to the extent of ignoring the manager’s instructions and go on pissing yourself till 5 o’clock the next morning ? And knowing that you are on duty with your club that same w/end ? So let’s not undermine the result against Scotland and make everyone a Sir after spending the night drinking. What the heck Happy, he can always apologise to the world after can’t he ?
TS7 – Treating your body bad does not go hand in hand with an athlete irrespective what herr klopp OR HAPPY might suggest. I bet you could roam the field like rooney but you would need your skills/ability to stand out.
redblood – All it takes is think positive and keep the faith. It may not always turn out the way you want it but it is always much better than being negative.
November 19, 2016 at 12:36 pm #1322317@happyhurling – I “undermine” the Scotland game (not result) for the simple and hopefully obvious reason that the gulf in class (rankings) between the 2 teams should mean England can field a drunken team and still win. England are 12th in FIFA rankings, Scotland 57th.
A celebration for beating Scotland would be like United celebrating a victory over Leeds. It used to be a big thing in bygone days but today it should be a foregone conclusion.
PS – Does England have any national pride after Iceland?
November 25, 2016 at 1:30 am #1332001How did “the drunk” get on last night anyway?
