Vital game…wont be easy. Id prefer to play our strongest 11 and the same formation..which is the same team that started against WBA. We cannot afford to drop CL points on Wed. Make a few changes at Anfield and a draw would be a decent result.
November 19, 2017 at 11:35 pm #1559268Won’t be easy. Atletico had a tough time there. Long travel. But this is important. If we win this match away at Qarabag, Azerbaijan: we’ll qualify for the next round. Which is important.
My team:
Courtois
Rudiger,Luiz,Cahill
Zappa,Kante,Bakayoko,Alonso
Pedro,Morata,WillianNovember 20, 2017 at 8:46 am #1559310Biggest game of the season so far according to Conte. With CL qualification on the line and Qarabag’s improved form I can’t see Conte resting Hazard.
November 20, 2017 at 8:56 am #1559312Players need to be rested otherwise we want get the results and Liverpool away we need to field the strongest possible side. Lose to Liverpool and we will be level on points with them and Arsenal and Spurs and I think they also all have easy runs to follow.
If the players below cannot get a result at Qarabag then they cant complain about being benched. for future games.
Courtois
Rudiger, Luiz, Christensen,
Zappa, Kante, Drinkwater, Alonso
Pedro, Morata, Willian/Hazard.November 20, 2017 at 10:01 am #1559346Every game is important while City keep on winning. The old adage of take every game as they come springs to mind, however, it has to be said that after Liverpool we face a decent run of games where we should be able to rotate much more easily and still pick up points
Therefore, for me we go full strength for both the next 2 games with a view we could rest a few for Swansea and then Newcastle. Obviously some of these key players will be on the bench in case we need them but in players like Pedro, Willian, Luiz, Drinkwater and Moses we have good cover that should be more than capable of doing well against the likes of Swansea and Newcastle. November 20, 2017 at 1:37 pm #1559502Can see a few rested but I think hazard, cesc and kante were substituted against WBA to ensure they could play weds.
November 20, 2017 at 1:49 pm #1559508We should have sufficient quality to beat Qarabag on paper. But so should Atletico. I think the difficulty here will be the travelling time (and thus fatigue) and the unknown factor. I don’t think we’d ever played there in Azerbaijan. Hostile environment probably with fans 120% supporting their team.
And the problem with the distance, fatigue etc is important as we have Liverpool away Saturday. A team on-fire.
November 20, 2017 at 5:12 pm #1559599Qaraborg?!
This makes us all look like amateur fans, like we don’t know what we are talking about. Please take 1 second to open a new browser tab and find out the correct spellings.
November 20, 2017 at 6:36 pm #1559628Spell police out in force…so sorry…
November 20, 2017 at 8:11 pm #1559683Sorted! No harm done.
November 21, 2017 at 2:51 pm #1559962Yeah the autocorrect suggestion is sometimes disturbing. Anyway, I am expecting this to be either a very tough match either a very easy match. Not something in the middle.
We may draw or even lose. But if we are able to score early: I won’t be surprised if we can win the match with a big margin. Not 6-0 of course, but probably 2-0 or 3-0.If we don’t score early, they will be confident in their defending and may steal a goal from counter-attack as they have creative players in Henrique and a quick one Guerrier. Is their striker Ndlovu suspended? I think he received a red card before but don;t remember in which match
November 21, 2017 at 3:22 pm #1559976Anything other a win is a catastrophe for me. we can’t go in the Athletico clash with qualification on the line. i prefer to go the Athletico clash with Chelsea top of the group. that may give us the incentive to beat them to confirm our progression as first in the group. i would start the same team that beat Westbrom. i would only rest Christensen and play Luiz to keep him fit. if we are 2 or 3 up i will change the main men for the Liverpool game.
November 22, 2017 at 7:50 am #1560227I must admit that currently I am not totally convinced that coming top of the group provides a significant benefit to Chelsea, however, just to continue to win games is a habit we should be looking for. Agree that anything other than a victory is going to be considered as a poor result
I am hoping that AM will actually get a result against Roma which would put us clear top if we won but even then we still need to beat AM in the last game as a draw and a Roma victory puts us on the same points so Roma go top based on head to head results (I think…?)
Do not think it will be easy at all based on what they have done in the past but we should be strong enough to get the win. KTBFFH
November 22, 2017 at 7:53 am #1560228Think goal difference could come in to the show. but not sure if the rules had been changed.
November 22, 2017 at 8:20 am #1560243coming top does not necessary mean you will have easier opposition, could even be drawn against Real Madrid.
November 22, 2017 at 8:45 am #1560260Not nice, good point look when we topped the Group but drew PSG.
Just to remind everyone this game kicks off at 5pm UK time and is live on BT Sport.
November 22, 2017 at 8:53 am #1560266At least we will avoid PSG, Barcelona two teams i think will be tough drawing against. i don’t mind drawing against Madrid. on current form you will have more confidence in beating them.
November 22, 2017 at 12:52 pm #1560400So does that mean we have now all convinced ourselves that losing tonight would not be the worst thing in the world…..!!!! KTBFFH
November 22, 2017 at 12:54 pm #1560402JOKE…KTBFFH
November 22, 2017 at 1:05 pm #15604111905… Im more upset about the fact we couldn’t spell the oppo correctly and that Stuilse couldn’t get the plural of spelling police implying that there is a division in the force that caters for hogwarts and magic! Would be cool wouldn’t it!
I am MASSIVELY taking the piss Chaps… I find misspellings amusing and people typing English as a second language cool having an inability to speak or write English without errors myself and hailing from the little island of Europe’s northern coast….
Someone even asked me to insert paragraphs on here a few months ago… See… I tried…
Plenty now…..
Enjoy the game tonight chaps and chappesses.
3-0 Chelsea tonight. we’ll keep building up a head of steam to capitalise on City’s slump in form come winter and January pitches.
