Easiest ask my question with an example. This is just an example I’m not asking if it’s a good deal etc.
Celtic get 10% of fee from van Dijk sale.
Say VvD is sold for 60 million, Celtic would get 6 million.
If Southampton were to sell VvD for say 30 million plus a player in exchange would Celtic only be due 3 million? Or would a tribunal decide how much the exchange player was worth?

I guess it would depend on the exact wording of the sell on clause.

I think there was a case like this recently where the same thing happened, but I forget the clubs \ player involved.

The original selling club would tray and claim a cut of the value of the player in exchange, as that player obviously adds to the value of the deal.
