Not saying for one minute my Spuds deserved anything from that game, and the “Walker-gate” was worthy of a red card/penalty etc… but maybe it’s because I’m a Spud-lover, am I the only one who saw all the decisions in the first half that were also missed? Both City goals could have been disallowed for various reasons in my opinion. The ref had a mare for sure, but I think he got a lot of things wrong for both teams…
January 23, 2017 at 11:08 pm #1421904I thought there was a suspicion of handball with Sane’s goal and there were a couple of crunching tackles which I thought City players were going to get carded. It was a shame that as a game it was a cracker but we are once again left with a referee that decides the outcome.
I don’t like the idea of a video replay – it won’t work in football (just look how long it took City to wait for the ball to go dead to make their sub as an example). The answer is simple to make the game much better:
– 4th Official with a TV monitor and in communication to ref/linesman
– 6 games retrospective ban for any player deemed post match as actively cheating
– Mic the ref up to explain why/what decisions he’s givenThat will sort out 90% of the issues, the other 10% I am a happy to be down to ‘luck of the draw’
January 23, 2017 at 11:09 pm #1421905Look at hawk-eye – nobody ever questions if the ball was over the line or not – we all accept the technology and the game is better for it

Weak spineless performance. Aguero and Silva were clearly targeted for the rough stuff early on (both picked up injuries and no Arsenal players booked). Yet when City started to put it about in the second half a yellow every time.
Ox challenge on Aguero was a clear penalty – I was at the third tier and the opposite end and could see it. Navas also should have conceded a pen at the end of the first half.
The officials clearly guessed at the Sane cross for the Aguero goal. What ever happened with if your not sure then you favour the attacking team. they couldn’t have been sure as replays show it was was clearly in. So once again poor reffing cost city badly.
April 24, 2017 at 11:48 am #1469009I also forgot to add the free-kick that let to 2nd Arsenal goal looked very dubious ‘live’
April 28, 2017 at 12:11 am #1471010Martin Atkinson – Manchester Derby
Thought he did pretty well. Couple of shouts for pens which he seemed well placed for. Seemed to give the odd 50/50 to the red half but you will always see those with blue glasses on. Friends tell me the two major decisions red card and offside goal were correct
May 13, 2017 at 11:45 pm #1479504Robert “Bobby” Madely v Leicester…
Think we would have been better with Richard Madely. Hopelessly inconsistent for both sides and refused to let the game flow. Blew up overtime city roughed up a leicester player but turned a blind eye to the constant hacking of Jesus and Sterling.
August 15, 2017 at 12:55 am #1517086Everton (Home) – Booby Madeley
Based on past reports he will be inconsistent, whistle happy and not protect players from persistent foulingAugust 21, 2017 at 11:33 pm #1520789well madeley lived up to his reputation of being woefully inconsistent and buying whatever dive the Everton players would sell him. The sooner we get Video replays the quicker we rid the game of these incompetent fools

What an utter farce of a display – continually stopped play, pulled it back for both clubs when he should have played on, missed a clear red and a possible one and I honestly thought missed the free kick to B’mouth in the lead up to the winner, to send sterling off was a shocking decision… very poor displaySeptember 10, 2017 at 12:11 am #1530116Jonathan Moss (v Liverpool)
Excellent display – thought he got all the major decisions right including offside goals, red card and yellow cards – I think he fell for a couple of bought free-kicks from both sides
