@kingo, you’d think so but you just don’t know. I assume the player looking to the ref for a free kick would be a dead giveaway but again, you just dont know.
December 20, 2017 at 12:56 pm #1572511I think it would take a bit more than a few opposition fans throwing the diving accusation around to tarnish Cities brand of football at the moment 🙂
December 20, 2017 at 5:24 pm #1572614Couple of embarrassing dives from Gray and Walker last night. Very poor.
Saw last night that penalty awards are down 50% on last season. Can’t say I’d noticed but that’s a sea change if trueDecember 29, 2017 at 11:21 am #1575691Whilst it was not actually diving –
surly Callum Wilson should be facing retrospective action for cheating in the Bournemouth West ham game. He can be clearly seen telling the referee that the ball never touched him for the late Bournemouth equalizer where clearly it did.
Is that not the same as cheating?December 29, 2017 at 11:42 am #1575706Nolu, rumour has it that the owners are thinking of lodging a complaint to the FA about the referee and the player over this incident. The FA will do FA about it though.
December 31, 2017 at 8:32 am #1576497NOLU, trouble is players do that all the time, every time a ball goes out of play both sets of players appeal, how many times do you see players say they got the ball in a tackle when they didn’t….Pagan
December 31, 2017 at 9:16 am #1576506What about that stiff elbow in the stomach by that united player on a saints player was intended to cause maximum damage. That is far morec serious than diving.
December 31, 2017 at 3:19 pm #1576704Ashley Young has got away with a few lately. I think he’ll get punished for the elbow on Tadic(?).
Personally I’d hand him a minimum three match ban.
December 31, 2017 at 3:44 pm #1576717for such a blatant act of thuggery he should be getting more than 3 games.
January 2, 2018 at 8:31 am #1577450Will this be the week Zaha finally gets done for diving?
January 3, 2018 at 9:10 pm #1578288Ash what about Hazard.
January 3, 2018 at 11:44 pm #1578381Mufc – the penalty for Chelsea was for a toe end on Hazard’s boot. Do you understand the diving rules?
January 4, 2018 at 12:29 am #1578385Exactly Dandy. mufc maybe doesn’t get what constitutes a dive.
Thwre was only one dive at the Emirates tonight, and that was by Jack Wilshere.
To be fair to the ref it was difficult to spot from his vantage point, but tough to swallow for us when the same player who would have been sent off had the ref seen his con attempt subsequently scored.
January 4, 2018 at 7:28 am #1578401obvious penalty anyone who thinks it was not is as biased as the King of Brazeness Lord Wanker, Hazard juts rolling over made it look a bit weak, no need for that as it was a clear foul, in any event their opening goal was scored by a player who should have easily received a 2nd yellow.
January 4, 2018 at 7:53 am #1578410Lol, if a United player won a penalty in that fashion, we would have 15 separate threads on it.
January 4, 2018 at 8:01 am #1578416The FA panel was established to review debatable decisions where penalties are awarded for acts of simulation, or feigning of injury has led to a dismissal. It’s when the referee has been deceived.
Hazard showed why he is the PLs most ‘fouled’ player. That form of cheating needs to be stopped just as much as Wilshere’s.
If the FA think the ref was deceived or Hazards reaction was an act of simulation then it should be looked at. I think he will get away with it though, as he always does.
From the FAs website:
From the start of the 2017-18 season, retrospective disciplinary action can be taken in situations when a match official has been deceived, and as a direct result, the offending player’s team has been:-
• awarded a penalty; and/or
• an opposing player has been sent-off where the act of simulation and/or feigning injury led to a straight red card or caused one of the two cautions that led to the dismissal. This rule is not intended to regularly review debatable incidents but is to be utilised where there is a clear act of simulation.

January 4, 2018 at 8:23 am #1578429Hazard being a player who dribbles a lot with the ball close to his feet is actually the actually the most fouled player in the league by a country mile, however I do agree he should not behave like he does when that happens as it puts your character in bad light, last night was a definite penalty but it was not necessary to carry on like he was shot with a bullet. Even that ex ref boss, forgot his name said that it was a definite penalty and he is not biased towards ref often stating when refs are wrong, he even stated the WBA incident last week was not a penalty.
January 4, 2018 at 8:27 am #1578431MUCF its understandable that if that was United it would have caused much more anger as over the years but especially in Ferguson’s time United were allotted so many dubious penalties and at critical times it became a normal procedure almost every 2nd week.
January 4, 2018 at 8:37 am #1578440Lol. Alfie and mufc revealing how scared they are of being overtaken by Chelsea.
Chaps, you’re embarrassing yourselves by suggesting there’s any issue whatsoever with last night’s pen. I’m actually cringing for you.
As notnice said, Dermot Gallagher said it was a clear pen, Thierry Henry said it was a clear pen. It was a clear pen!
Your only credible excuse for posting such tosh is that actually you’re both practicing for the next ‘Britain’s got Talent’. I don’t think they’ve ever had anyone who can talk out their arse yet.
January 4, 2018 at 8:55 am #1578455Good to see you’re as welcoming to others views which don’t match your own as ever Ash.
I note you have to result to childish nonsense than offer a counter argument to what has been said.
