No one can argue that we as Chelsea Supporters have a lot to be thankful about/to for what RA or his money has done for Chelsea, BUT equally no one can argue that there are very large cracks appearing in the club.

Consecutive seasons of failing to refresh and strengthen the squad, the numerous false dawns of either a brand new stadium or a new and improved Stamford Bridge.

Is he losing interest? Has he outgrown his toy?

As I say we all have a lot to be thankful for with him or his money. Personally he is not a character I have ever been able to warm to, Maybe its an inherent suspicion of many of these mega rich Russians who are backed by a certain political leader.

Bottom line is the folk running the club do not seem to be learning from the mistakes they are making off the field of play, and we have seen at Leeds, Villa, Liverpool to name but a few the impact of running a club badly.

I for one would not shed tear if another wealthy individual or company were to come in with a bid to purchase the club.

Losing interest? Roman is currently trying every angle he can to spend another £500million on a brand new iconic stadium to add to the 1billion he already spent catapulting us up to the upper echelons of world football.

Furthermore, he is the only wealthy owner known to attend every game. Sometimes even youth games. I believe he cares, whatever his motivations for purchasing Chelsea in the first place.

Our problem is management not ownership.

Roman Abramovich is the stand out owner by far who has remained loyal to his club for 13 plus years and is on the brink of funding a new Super Stadium at £500m plus too which suggests that he’s far from losing interest.

Roman regularly attends games which very few owners do and you can see from his reactions that he is now more fan than owner.

Be careful what you wish for we could get a Hicks and Gillette, a Vincent Tan, a Cellino a Venkys or a Chinese investor who is just after a quick profit!

Young-blue where exactly in my comment did I mention last nights defeat. Please copy and paste where there is any reference to last nights game, as a matter of fact please copy and paste from my post where there is a mention of any game, win lose or draw!!

My comments are based on the fact that people he has employed to run the club have failed now in successive seasons to strengthen the footballing side adequately, that is over 4 transfer windows that the owner and his team have failed!

Had to post too soon there as we had an xbox emergency in the house.

My concerns are that the people running the club are failing the footballing side and I may be wrong but I thought that Chelsea were first and foremost a footballing club.

My other concerns are, albeit unconfirmed, but after planning permission has been at long last passed for the redevelopment of the Bridge, and even though the local council have been busting a gut to retain Chelsea Football Club on Fulham Broadway the redevelopment had mysteriously been put on hold!!

Im my experience from someone who works in the world of commerce this certainly is showing more tell tale signs of a business that will struggle to get out of a dowmward spiral as opposed to truly realising its potential.

That is why I have my doubts about RA. The one common denominator that I have seen is so many failed businesses is the owners of businesses or CEOs of bigger businesses have surrounded themselves with yes men or yes people to be more pc! Yes people who tell the boss what they want to hear, not what they need to!! Which 9.9 times out of 10 ends in tears!

NI Blue, re the re development of Stamford Bridge:

I’m not sure why you have got the impression that the Club/Abramovich have put on hold the development plans for the new Stamford Bridge after planning had been granted?

Firstly no planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge.

The planning application has successfully passed through its first consultation stage and we have now entered the second consultation stage on the 9th September and according to the official club statement on the official club site on the 9/9/2016 plans for the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge remain on schedule.

We should all be aware that such a major development on such a restricted site surrounded by very expensive residential properties has to go through the various due processes before planning can be granted and the building of a new Stadium can commence.

AMZ yes I am, let me put it another way……..does anybody think the club is being run well?

Manchester City, the only similarity between the City of this season and of last is that they are called Manchester City. The club has fully supported their Coach, they have signed targets that HE identified, and they have allowed HIM to offload the players He did not want. They have allowed HIM to select the squads. They are an awesome team to watch at the minute and the scary thing is they can and will get better.

Everton, getting stronger under a very capable coach with a squad who greatly underperformed last season, but unlike us they are showing signs of improvement game on game. Their business around the transfer market was dealt with in a manner that delivered on their first team coach’s requirements.

Liverpool, Have now got the players in that the coach wanted so HE can get them playing HIS brand of football.

Tottenham, another club who have fully supported their coach, and funnily enough the only points they have dropped this season have been against two other clubs detailed above!

Unlike the teams I have mentioned above, we have yet again failed to back the first team coach, failed to allow him to manage the first team as he sees fit, failed to land his targets.

None of us actually know who is running the club, because it is obvious the first team coach has little to no say in the signings.

Our transfer activity in the main for the last 3 or 4 seasons is a bit like going through the wifes/girlfriends wardrobe…

” Oh that old thing …forgot I had it, didn’t even like it at the time, but it was in a sale. Yea I bought that one hoping I would lose weight and it would fit me then. Yea that was in a clearance, but its so last season I’m never going to wear it!” In other words to be buying for the sake of it.

Meanwhile, we go along hiring and firing coaches, paying out lump sums in compensation that impact on FFP which in turn impacts on our ability to support out first team coach, whilst ignoring the elephant in the room.

So, if this was your business would you be happy at how it is being run?

Must admit to some surprise at what I am reading and how people interpret events

Roman owns the Club, he has poured millions into it and is entitled to employ whom he feels fit to run the Club. There has always been questions marks as to the calibre of some of the people as they do not appear to be football type or with such a background and yet the trophy haul since Roman has arrived can match anyone in England – so maybe he does know what he is doing…?

Is Roman losing interest..? Well he has just forked out another significant amount of money on players to bolster the squad, he has employed a new manager and he is ready to bankroll a new stadium. On the face of it I would say it is unlikely that he has lost interest and would he still attend games if he had..?

How do you know that the Club (Roman) has failed to back the new manager? If the reports are to be believed we either had to pay ludicrous money or the players targeted were not for sale anyway. As for the progress of the clubs you mention lets not forget that they all have EPL experience ahead of Conte who is not only having to adapt to the EPL but at the same time try to bring his style and approach to a squad, many of whom this would be new too

No one is saying that everything is rosy but equally I do not think that everything is as bad as you make out. KTBFFH

The only target we didn’t get was Stones because we didn’t want to pay £50m last season, he even handed in a transfer request.

If a team does not want to sell their player, they won’t sell. This goes for Romagnoli, Koulibaly and other players we expressed an interest in. It’s more competitive across Europe now, not just the Premiership.

Personally, I think we are very lucky to have had Abramovich as our owner and continue to be. Not quite sure how anyone can be so certain about what is happening on the inside of the club, who is running it, and alleging the club have failed to back Conte etc etc. He specifically stated he did not want the club to over pay for certain players, saying its not his money, but he didnt like it. All looks an over-reaction to a disappointing performance and result. Maybe, RA is losing interest, maybe he isn’t. The evidence, in the shape of his match attendance, appointing one of the words to managers (again!) and the eye watering amount of money he appears willing to spend on developing SB seems to suggest the latter. Lets see how the season develops before rushing to judgement on such matters.

I fail to understand why any fans would blame Abramovich. Everytime I watch Chelsea on TV and the camera shows Abramovich on his box: he is always passionate.
Being a Chelsea fan since early 1990s (Kerry Dixon’s era, and then Peacock, Stein etc), Roman Abramovich made my dream come true. Chelsea won the EPL, and even the Champions League. How could I think Chelsea would ever win the Champions League?
We would think that Zola era was already paramount, with Gullit before, Vialli, Flo etc. But then Abramovich came and strengthens the squad continually until now. He is the best owner!

You cannot blame Abramovich and in fact we should all be grateful to the man, he appoints managers and tells them of his desires regarding the way he would like the team to shape going forward and he has every right, the problem is the managers never keep to his dream or there promises and end up doing everything contrary to what was discussed at the interview stages

Roman is not perfect, but I can’t see another owner out there I would prefer.

We have won more silverware in the 12 or so years Roman has been the owner than in the 90 odd previously.

The people running the club now are, by and large, the same people who were involved before when we won trophies.

Roman found an paid for a superb new training ground and is going to stump up for a completely new stadium.

I see no lack of passion when Roman is shown on TV watching a game.

Our problems stem from Joses second coming, he made so many mistakes in the transfer market – De Bryne, Mata, Bertrand, Lukaku. This was at the same time as the spine of the team was coming to the end of the road. That we have, as yet, failed to fully correct this is a legitimate criticisum, though every club we approached seemed to think of a number and double it to arrive at an asking price.

We have an excellent young manager who did not arrive till shortly before the season started and is still finding his feet. Give him time and I think he will get it right.

Keep the faith, and thank you Roman for the best years I have spent watching Chelsea.

And today it is reported that Roman kept his board behind until 1am to discuss the disappointing loss to Liverpool. That does not sound like a man who has lost his passion at all but more like someone who really cares and does not want to see the Club go through another season like last year…? KTBFFH

What a great idea that would be to sack Conte 5 games into the season on the back of one loss which although Chelsea didn’t play great v Liverpool it could have easily been a draw but for a worldie shot by Henderson that he will probably never repeat again.

First question marks against Roman and his commitment, I knew questioning Conte was only just around the corner. Ridiculous!
