Ryan Sessegnon is the type of progressive player that we should be targeting. He obviously is a fullback at heart unlike Moreno but also has blistering pace and technique. He’s only 17 but has played more competitive games than Moreno has played in the last two years.
Yes its one for the future but when you look at great players like Gareth Bale and others you can see that he wouldn’t have that much trouble settling into our team as you can tell his stock will rise over the years. It won’t be long before he is making a full England appearance. Of course, LFC won’t go for him, he’ll end up at Spurs or United and well be saying in 5 years time we should have bought him just as we do with Deli Ali.
PS: On a positive note Ojo came back from a long injury and scored 2 on his return with Ryan Sessegnon getting a goal too 🙂
November 23, 2017 at 11:32 am #1560868We went after him last summer and should continue the pursuit.
The lads gonna be a star.
Add Tierney and Dembele from Celtic to that list of players we should be going after hard although it may prove difficult to get Tierney as he’s a die hard Celtic fan.November 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm #1560929Isn’t Sessengnon a right back? Great prospect.
November 23, 2017 at 6:14 pm #1561100Nine most of the information I have read about him report that he is a left-sided player. But he can play on the right too.
November 23, 2017 at 7:48 pm #1561128I think he has signed for Spurs and they have loaned him back to Fulham – could be wrong
November 23, 2017 at 9:28 pm #1561158He hasn’t signed for anyone.
He signed his first professional contract with Fulham in the summer when he decided to stay despite interest from several clubs including ourselves.
He plays leftback or occasionally left midfield. Have never heard of him playing right.
He’s someone we need to get.November 23, 2017 at 9:33 pm #1561160Very good player if we could get him.
Still like to see Robertson get his chance and then let the 2 of them fight it out. Would be good to have genuine competition out there.
November 24, 2017 at 3:12 am #1561189Not quite ready for the big time. His flaws are taped over by the lack of quality in the Championship. One for the future definitely but still a long way to go before he’s at the level we need him to be at. Chillwell is a better player.
March 27, 2018 at 5:54 pm #1616962This kid would be a huge jigsaw piece signing. If Keita is two players in one then so is this young man. Could provide serious competion and cover for Moreno/Robertson AND Mane!
Why Ryan Sessegnon should still be a priority target for Liverpool by Jack Lusby
March 27, 2018 at 7:56 pm #1616997I got a feeling Sessegnon is not going to develop as a wingback, he has been pushed way higher up the field and excelling over there. I hope we can bag him as it could turn out to be the deal of the century.
March 27, 2018 at 8:40 pm #1617016The new Bale. Will end up where Salah plays in all probability. Competition will be fierce and the London clubs will have a big advantage
March 27, 2018 at 9:04 pm #1617021For some reason, I would rather spend big on this guy than Lemar. Lemar is good but Sessegnon probably is better value with regard to his overall skillset including defending and attacking abilities, the only stumbling block is the price. If we can ‘Southampton’ them and get a reasonable price it would be amazing! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be surprised either if he ends up at City or United as those two clubs could make a bidding war we wouldn’t be able to win. I hope LFCs clever plan to send Agent Ojo is doing all he can to buddy up and tempt Sessegnon to Anfield!
March 27, 2018 at 10:26 pm #1617044Mate, a blob of blu-tack would be an alternative to Moreno.
March 28, 2018 at 8:16 am #1617081He would now cost £25M plus he has played left wing this season I doubt we will go for him but highly likely we will see him in the prem next season (maybe with Fulham more likely at one of our rivals)
November 11, 2018 at 3:35 pm #1696793According to BBC Ryan covered more ground today than any other player today(12.22km), so I guess that ticks one of Klopp’s requirements lol. He had a good game today was a threat especially in the first half. As has been said before can be competition for Mane and Robertson, 2 for 1 type player.
Also with all the talk of fatigue and lack of creativity up front this guys energy and zip would be a welcome sight, even though Fulham have struggled Ryan is definitely a future star.
November 12, 2018 at 2:27 am #1696985Would most definitely be interested in this teenager.
Has played left back but also frequently plays left of a front 3.
Someone we should be very much interested in given the right money.
His price will have went up now he’s a Premiership player.April 6, 2019 at 4:04 pm #1740518Old post I know… Maybe I’m wrong but I’d still love to see Klopp develop this player… His experience as a defender would help us press better upfront… Maybe Klopp can convert him to right side as cover for Salah too.
