There is indeed and we know where it’s centred! Pulls had secured 7 points out of his last 12 games. We were sinking like a stone and, coupled with the appalling football we were playing and the obvious disenchantment of many of the players his sacking was inevitable. The squad was ready and willing to accept a different kind of coach as they have proved now. Sadly for us, Pardew wasn’t the man. So the problem wasn’t sacking Pulis, it was replacing him with Pardew. And please strop assuming that because Pulis had never been relegated, it wouldn’t have happened this year. This is simply a mantra with not a shred of logic to back it up. Paul Lambert had never been relegated either. Here endeth the lesson.
And so sadly does the dream. Well it was exhilarating while it lasted and saw us win games against Man U and Spurs that I never remotely expected. I still expect a good game against Palace and if we win there will be a lot of anger
directed towards the two “P’s” In six games against our relegation rivals – Stoke, Southampton, Huddersfield, and Swansea we gained just 2 points out of 18.
