Winner: man city
Liverpool: 4th (with coutinho or good replacement)
Last place: Brighton
Top scorer: Lukaku
First sack: de boerAugust 13, 2017 at 9:14 pm #1516554So far so good with my predictions. What do you think?
August 13, 2017 at 9:17 pm #1516555Im not making a prediction until the window closes but I don’t agree with Man city being the defacto title winners again (like last season).
August 13, 2017 at 9:33 pm #1516556Ha ha Macattack: I don’t think you can collect your winnings just yet!
I think that in order to make a proper prediction, I’d need to wait until the window is closed. However, based on what we have at the moment I’d suggest that we will end up in 5th or 6th.
I do think City will win but that’s because the manager and club have been smart about how they’ve done business this summer. They addressed their main issue as soon as they could i.e. their defence. They have a proper chance this year. Pity we couldn’t have used a similar tactic… realist you have a problem and fix it!
August 14, 2017 at 3:32 am #1516575United will win the league. We will finish 5th. Rafa will resign from Newcastle. Brighton or Bournemouth to finish bottom. Everton will win the FA Cup. City the League Cup. Real Madrid the CL (again). Top scorer – Lukaku, hands down (they’ll create so much for him) with Lacazette up there too.
August 14, 2017 at 6:35 am #1516592I think top 4 will be tough for us this season, especially if we don’t add anyone else in the window… more optimistic about the CL(IF we get through the qualifiers that is)
August 14, 2017 at 9:20 am #1516649Too hard to predict where we’ll finish until the window has closed.
City to win the league.
Lukaku or Kane top scorer.August 14, 2017 at 9:46 am #1516656Can we make a prediction before the close of the window? Utd & City got their business done & it shows after the opening games. We have a big CL qualifier to navigate & some necessary business to do yet if our aspirations are to be an improvement on last season in the premiership & also in Europe.
August 14, 2017 at 9:51 am #1516657we’re gonna have a disastrous season. Thats my prediction.
August 14, 2017 at 9:57 am #1516668Give it a couple of weeks redsforever. Much can change yet in our squad & pattern of play in defence.
August 14, 2017 at 10:20 am #1516678I wish i can be as opimistic as you sanj1 but i dont have much hope. We usually take a long time to complete one signing haggling over prices. At the moment at least we can offer the potential of CL football to prospective signings. But if we get dumped out by hoffenheim we cant even offer that anymore.
August 14, 2017 at 1:32 pm #1516794Just looking at that squad to play Hoffenheim & there is no steel in it, no depth & a severe lack of leaders. It wouldn’t surprise me 1 bit if we don’t qualify for the C/L.
Jeez I was optimistic we would strengthen up until yesterday but I’m starting to think what if we don’t. With only a couple of weeks to go we have what I believe is a similar squad to last season & that is nowhere near good enough. We would most likely end up mid table.
A lot this season may well depend on Coutinho’s attitude if he is still at the club. This mysterious back injury could well be him going, if not I just hope he does a Suarez & gives his best. Add to that Can not signing & our early injury crisis we could be in turmoil come September 1.August 14, 2017 at 2:33 pm #1516833Not posted during the break as it was pointless, with all the transfer talk still up in the air it is still hard to predict.
Here is my pennyworth anyway, no chance of top 4 even if we got what the players we wanted I still think it would of been hard to get into top4.
I predict there will be a fight for 5/6/7 & we will be fighting for one of these, if certain of our so called players like Wiji who I still feel he needs to up his game, Mr, 1 in 5/6 good games Firmino can get to 1 in 2, if Sturridge(not much hope) can stay fit,if Salah can match Mane there is a good chance we could manage 5th.
Too many if & buts at the moment, but if things stay as they are we will fight out 5/6th.August 14, 2017 at 2:36 pm #1516834Sorry, I should have said “if our so called TOP players.
& We will fight it out for 6/7th.August 14, 2017 at 2:55 pm #1516844Reds, I’m an optimist myself but if we don’t get the signings that we need, I’m inclined to agree with you.
I’m looking forward to what Mane – Firmino – Salah can do this season but not so much what the team can do because I know we’re seemingly ignoring huge problem departments.
Ya, the squad for the Hoff isn’t good enough and that’s what we might be going into the next season with really. It’s not bloody good enough. Aussie, every day that goes by is a day that I care less about Coutinho. I think the club should tell Barca that he’s available for £140m, take it or leave it. If they agree, we go back to RB with £80m, informing them that we’ll get their player next season for almost half if they don’t. We go right in for Van Dijk with £70m and we give them our assurances that for our past transgressions, we’ll not tap up another one of their players ever again.
Do we need to replace Coutinho? Yes but now isn’t the time to try. We have problem positions to look after before the window shuts and we don;t need players who don’t want to be here.
Migs
TAA – Matip – Van Dijk – Moreno
Henderson – Keita – Wijnaldum
Salah – Firmino – maneHenderson would have to fight and likely lose his place to Lallana when fit but he’d better fit into that role than as a number 6. Keita seems to be very strong defensively but is also a bloody livewire when required. He loves to burst forward and would give us that bit of dynanism. That isnt even our strongest 11 if we had the 2 new signings but I think it would be a hell of a lot better than what we’ve played with recently.
GET IT DONE FFS.
August 14, 2017 at 3:30 pm #1516861@almosteveryone, of course it is hard to predict before the window closes, but the truth is that the season has already started. So now is the time for bets in my opinion!
August 14, 2017 at 3:42 pm #1516870Top three rich clubs – both Mancs sides and Chelsea
Next 3 Arsenal Spurs LFC
Then Everton WBA Leicester
Above trios in any order!
Relegated – brighton swansea palace
Top GS lacazette
Sack race De Boer
LFC struggle in Europe unless we qualify for CL and buy top players soon!August 16, 2017 at 4:50 am #1517752I predict TAA will win the Ballon D’Or!! (too soon?)
August 16, 2017 at 8:00 am #1517789If things remain unchanged (that we don’t buy anyne etc) I’ll predict 8th.
August 16, 2017 at 2:38 pm #1518027We can be optimistic since Spurs and Arsenal are having issues regarding players leaving and lack of players coming in.
I’m not convinced Man United will make a huge improvement from last season but we really need to improve our defending.
IF we sign a midfielder and centre back:
City
Chelsea
Liverpool
Man United
Arsenal
Spurs -
