Jose has a bad result in this one after great results by all the prem sides he should just clear his desk and move on.
Crap football with results is just about acceptable but without results is nowhere near it and even the strongest Jose supporters would have to agree as Sevilla was a draw we all wanted and if we go out to them that would embarassing considering how much money he has spent.
February 17, 2018 at 1:12 pm #1600693Got a feeling Seville will win the CL.
February 17, 2018 at 1:50 pm #1600725Ika-I cannot stand Jose, never have never will, but the game is yet to be played mate.
February 17, 2018 at 2:28 pm #1600756What if Chelsea get dicked by Barca and Jose has a bad result? Or Spurs don’t finish the job against Juve?
February 17, 2018 at 2:47 pm #1600775Ika-I understand you mate, but we shall wait till the end of the season.
February 17, 2018 at 3:18 pm #1600788I reckon we’ve got a great chance of winning this leg albeit narrow, 0-1 or 1-2. My thinking is, JM knows PL gone, FA cup mickey mouse, top4 almost assured and CL is the big prize for his CV. Consequently, he’ll have the players he want’s all available and well prepared and his tactics nailed down.
Seville are good not great. They can’t and won’t park the bus at home and that suits JM. The PL small clubs parking the bus at OT that is his problem.

City 72
Utd 56
Liverpool 54
Chelsea 53
Spurs 52Can someone find clues for almost-assured top 4 finish?
February 17, 2018 at 9:57 pm #1600953put the whiskey away warro…. you know your predictions are shite…
February 18, 2018 at 2:28 am #1600980@TMA – I’d call being 2nd a clue. I’d say Spurs and Chelsea having wobbly seasons is a clue not to mention Liverpool being nearly men. I’d say the fact there are relatively few remaining games is a clue.
You consider me to be a negative poster, a pessimist. If a pessimist tbinks top4 is more than probable then that should be a big clue.
February 18, 2018 at 7:23 am #1600989And I thought this thread was about our game in Seville…
February 18, 2018 at 7:40 am #1600991@Wonderfuel – So howcome you’ve made 2 posts without talking about the game. I talked about it.
February 18, 2018 at 8:21 am #1600996First one…responding to the ridiculous opening gambit.
Second one…trying to get it back on track
Third one…responding to old plum duff
Fourth one…hopefully talking about the match
February 18, 2018 at 9:29 am #1601023Bugger me, (oops shouldn’t say that to Mr.Whippy) you’re like one of those players who fanny about for ages before they take the penalty. Old I may be but at least I’m not a dodderer!
Go on, post about the Seville game, you can do it. You’re the one who was in Spain recently, give us the benefit of your field trip.
February 18, 2018 at 10:00 am #1601041Well I was in different cities for different purposes so not got much of a scouting report to offer there. Think they’ve lost a few players since their trio of Europa League wins so aren’t as formidable as previously but they have a lot of energy in the team which we tend to struggle against. Plus…will he be able to put a better side out than against Huddersfield?
Seville were a proper Jekyll and Hyde against the scousers so we can’t get complacent. A proper hoolie blew in that second half and washed the poor mickeys away.
February 18, 2018 at 11:51 am #1601093@macguffin – Its all too close to call between 2nd and 5th. Seems like Arsenal are already ruled out. The rest of United, Liverpool, Chelsea & Spurs are all equally likely to finish anywhere between 2nd and 5th. I can’t see Utd slipping down to fifth though.
Anything can happen in a knockout match, but I don’t think this Utd team is capable of winning the champions league. Mourinho’s priority should be winning the FA-cup and finishing 2nd in the league.
February 18, 2018 at 1:45 pm #1601142I think we’ll draw with Sevilla – hopefully it will be 1-1 rather than 0-0.
February 18, 2018 at 2:31 pm #1601154Sevilla away will be very tricky, they’ll be careful not to concede an away goal and they’ll also try to get a goal to give them the much needed advantage, we on the other hand mostly park the bus against big teams at their turf but the question is are they really big? i wouldn’t mind sitting back and hitting them on the counter like we did against Huddersfield with the hope that Lukaku will be as clinical and Sanchez will be…well Sanchez i still can’t believe we got him, his hunger and desire to win back every ball makes me want to go and drill it in one my fav player’s head…Martial. anyway back to the game my line-up would be
De Gea
Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Young
Matic, Herrera, Mctominay
Mata, Lukaku, Sanchezwe’ll need players who’ll keep it neat and simple as every pass and interception will count and that’s where Mata and Mctominay come in, Pogba might start ofc but given his recent form i hope he’ll be “rested” for the Chelsea game
If that’s the line-up that will start i’m going for 0-2 win Sanchez and Lukaku to scoreFebruary 18, 2018 at 3:16 pm #1601175February 18, 2018 at 3:46 pm #1601193Redblood- i know most here don’t rate Mctominay but he always keeps it neat and simple and he is very strong puts his body in the line and walks away injury free as for Mata if we are going to be sitting back and hitting them on the counter i don’t see a better play who will find the right pass at the right time
February 18, 2018 at 6:55 pm #1601231@ika. We get it. You hate Jose and his football and want him out – your decision was made a long time ago. Try enjoy (or at least support) the team while we continually get better results year on year.
As for the fixture (over both legs), it stands as one of the most important for us yet this season. The performance against Huddersfield was an addition to some of the rubbish we’ve seen over the last month or so. The midfield needs to be sorted as soon as possible because we are clearly unable to keep hold of the ball for the periods in time when the opposition feels like “going for it”. I otherwise think our counter-attack is showing signs of shaping up really well with some decent breaks out of defence against Huddersfield.
My issues lie with Luke Shaw who looks defensively naive and also with Matic who’s body is clearly in the red zone.
Elephant in the room is Pogba’s shocking form. If Pogba doesn’t produce in these two games in quick succession we will (rightfully) see big noise being made in the media about it. Mourinho needs to get Pogba playing well – it’s his job.
