But he won’t, Geir. And thank God in a way. Why waste money on top strikers just so they can run their guts out chasing hopeful (less) punts upfield. Rondon did this all last season and changed from being a threatening striker to something of a scapegoat. But you could have Ronaldo up there and without someone to create the chances for him he would struggle too. I just hope Rodrigues knows what he’s done in exchanging the academy of creative football on the South Coast for Pulis’s graveyard in the Midlands where the spirits of Allen, Barlow, Hope, Astle, Robson, Cunningham et al howl in outraged impotence, the memories of them all but extinguished.

Just about sums it up Sarky. I love the ‘outraged impotence’!!

I stand accused of being ultra negative, but give me something to cheer and I will happily praise anyone up. The last 30 months have been very difficult as a supporter. Granted, TP did exactly what he was brought to the club to do – keep us up. But since then we have stagnated into a team that plays puerile football. People work hard all week to have the money to go to a game, in the hope of having a good time. Not much chance with this guy at the helm.
