I see a lot of the papers and blogs have picked up on the lack of an invite for Campbell to the Man U game. Most are questioning this decision saying now is the time to make peace with him, I even saw a quote from his agent that ‘it wasn’t his fault that he left on a free’. Really ? Although not many have crossed the North London Rubicon, some have and I was at the Lane in ’78 when Jennings returned for the first time in an Arsenal shirt to a standing ovation. The issue is not the fact that he left on a free, but that he lied in order to do so. He let his contract run down that last year while all the time promising that he would renew it, and then reneged on that promise to cross the divide. That is why he is known as Judas, and that is why it was the right decision not to invite him.

    Aitch …

I for one wish he was invited and i’ll tell you why..

When Bale left Spurs my eldest son cried his heart out, he was only 7 but he associated Bale to Tottenham and Tottenham to Bale.

When i was growing up I associated Sol to Tottenam and Tottenham to Sol, i was there the day he scored his first senior goal, the guy was immense! Looked up to him as a great player and leader, the semi at OT against against Arsenal.. No one knew if Sol would start but when he came out of the tunnel the relief was huge that our main man was starting, even though he only last 15 mins I think before he had to go off.

When he spoke down the TV saying he’s staying, if you cut him open he would bleed blue and white, it was as if he was talking to me.. saying don’t worry son, i’m not leaving Tottenham, so go to bed and don’t worry!

Then to see him walking with Arsene Wenger around the Arsenal training ground killed me, knife in the back. When I broke up with my first gf that was hard, took me a little while to get over it but Sol Campbell leaving us for them….. That was a killer, not sure i’m still over it.

I say invite him back, let us sing our hearts out.. OOooooo Sol Campbell I wanna know why your such a c**t??? Judas Judas Judas..

I think we all need closure!!!!

Never in a million years… he chose his bed, he can go and lay in it as far as I’m concered… he can be a legend for the goonies, no issue there, he won trophies and filled up his bank account, fair play to him… but he is not a legend at the Lane after he took his 30 pieces of silver… I wouldn’t even have him back so we can sing rude songs to him, he isn’t worth it….and who wants to hear the boo’s on the last day? It should be a day for celebration, commiseration, and remembrance! Not ‘poor’ ‘ickle Judas and he’s hurt feelings…

One way ticket to Malmo is all he should be getting!

It’s OK, I took the old effigy we hung outside along to the last game – for old times sake. I know, I’m an old sentimental sort.
