I got to say I could not be happier, the time has passed for him, a long time ago.

Hopefully he will leave and establish himself again, another striker that could actually apply some pressure on Bobby would be ideal.

    Any thoughts?

There’ll be no shortage of takers. On the surface, the stats of Salah are showing him up.

    Sturridge: 12 appearances, 3 goals
    Salah: 18 appearances, 14 goals.

However, the caveat as regards the above is that Sturridge has only started 4 games in those 12 appearances whereas Salah has started in 17 of those 18 appearances. Also in terms of mins per goal or assist, Salah is at 84 and Sturridge at 86, so really, it’s perhaps not quite as bad as it looks when you look deeper into things.

I still think a lot of the whole question mark over him is that Klopp has always seen him as a luxury type of player – somebody to use in certain games where he could have an impact.

I just don’t rate him anymore, he hardly ever gets game time, he jumps out of every physical contact, moans and sulks at the redlf expecting to be rewarded with a foul.

He is nowhere near the player he was back in 2014. 8 million in paid wages without game time while sidelined with injuries.

    I’ll pay the taxi…

Allegedly Sturridge wants out to get regular first team football to secure a place to Russia with England.

Will Liverpool let him go in January? Possibly but I doubt any of the top 6 will be interested in him and he certainly would get a guarantee of being a regular starter at a top 6 club.

Allegedly he wants to come South? West Ham possibly if Liverpool were prepared to sell in January.

What’s the source for this story?

Would Liverpool let a striker leave?

Are we likely to bring in a replacement in Jan?

Could Ings play that sub role?

We need to get rid of him as well, you don’t win nothing with cripples in the team.

Perhaps but its extremely unlikely to get rid of both in Jan leaving ourselves light of players who can play central attacking.

Would we notice them both gone, Ings hasn’t featured for years and Daniel is nowhere near the first eleven. If could get rid of both and get another striker in it’s a good window.

If we can get a striker in of the requisite quality then fair enough but it’ll be hard enough to get a centreback in, which is the priority, and get a striker in during a World Cup year where players are reluctant to move.
If we could sell both and bring in Aubameyang I’d be a happy man.

Someone will take him and wouldn’t be surprised to see him go on to be a hit elsewhere.

As usual some will moan when he’s here and then when he’s gone. Some of the comments on him are unfair.

Gingers point is completely true though, it would be daft to sell him without bringing another striker in.

There is nothing wrong with criticizing the sick note, he got a bumper contract after 2014 and failed completely to establish himself as a leading striker for the club up until this day.

I’m not talking about his injury record I’m talking about the amount of other criticism he gets.

As stated would be daft to get rid unless we have another option lined up especially if there was a couple of injuries in key positions.

Just a thought, but Southampton are clearly in need of a striker. You see where I’m going with this one?

It would also be pretty daft to rely on Daniel to cover for Bobby if the latter gets injured. If history is anything to go by Sturridge would break down at the first glimpse of the first team.

Not sure what you mean when you say break down as soon as getting a glimpse of the first team since he’s played in the first team, scored and as I understand it is still available …. But don’t let that stop you.

when was he in the first team the last time and played more than one game in a row? As far as I remember the last time he played two consecutive games was back in 2014.

Nediarb2 agreed a nice swap involving VVD and Sturrigde would be really good idea. But also be complicated too, Southamton could well be involved in a relagation battle by the time January comes, maybe that would put Sturridge off. Also there’s the small question of wages, unless Liverpool agree to pay some of his wages I can’t see this happening… But it is a nice sell for Liverpool as Southamton need a quakity striker badly as much as we need a defender.

Bingo that’s because Klopp chooses not to play him, he isn’t injured or anything. That’s Klopps prerogative.

For the record all the problems with us defensively and here you are talking about Sturridge. What did you imply about us defensively VVD or nothing ….

I fully understand why Klopp does not pick him for the first eleven, its because you can not rely on Daniel. He jumps out of every physical contact made and he refuses to put his body on the line even though he is paid a fortune to do so. Would you play a striker that falls to the ground at the slightest touch made, would you play a striker that refuses to play if he has a small knock?

And yeah I did state that I understood the gamble on Van Dijk, I also stated that the new recruitment team should be held responsible if the gamble failed.
