It’s a classic; Loose Ends did a passable cover.

Bingo I was agreeing with you. Sturridge gets fit enough to play but his body is simply to fragile and he is therefor consistently injured. It’s a pity as, altho I’ve found him too selfish at times, he does score goals when fit.

You have to give the lad till the end of the season and reasses.

The alternative is panic buy in Jan if we can’t get klopps first choice striker and what are we left with, firmino who looks world class in some games and very average in others. Benteke who has scored some great goals but cannot be consistently relied on as our striker when we play one up top, Ings who is injured, origi who I like but again a lot of pressure on him.

I would be all for it if we could get a top striker in Jan, the reality is, it isn’t that easy just yet

    Do we have 3 windows?

If so, why should we just ignore the first one? Origi maybe have scored a hat trick but besides that, he has looked poor. Maybe he can continue to develop. That would be nice but we can’t expect such a sharp turn up.

Sturridge is out until X. You can’t out a time on his return, to do so is just foolish.

As for Firmino, he’s looked very good the odd time and even though I’d have him as our best man to fill in the role, does he seem settled yet? He looks like a lost puppy without Coutinho.

So we’re left with Benteke , who has been quite poor lately.

Maybe all of these players will play to their abilities or realise their potential over the season but maybe they won’t.

The fact is, you guys may talk about 3 transfer windows, which I find to be a little bit off-putting in that is what i assume is the time you’re giving Klopp to turn things around? That’s not a lot of time for a new manager, so I say again, we need to make the most of the very first transfer window that we get.

Mak, if we can get the right player up top in Jan then I’m all for it, the question is can you …

Yes Klopp is a big draw but we haven’t even qualified for the CL so I don’t think we will get any marquee signings just yet mate.

Open to the idea but has to be quality over quantity.

That said the main point in my post was that we shouldn’t sell Sturridge until come end of season and see where he is injury wise. A quality goal scorer like him doesn’t come round that often and we miss his guile, creativity and finishing when he isn’t available
