    1905…

Would really like to see both him and morata up top for us. Reckon they’d cause carnage. I’d be disappointed to see Morata leave after one season. Really reckon he’ll come good and be capable of banging in 20 league goals for us.

Dient Dortmund want Giroud in January or did I miss read that back then except his wife didnt want to move to Germany? No offence to Giroud, he’s got a great spirit about him and is probably a calming influence in the dressing room, I call him led legs cheekily, but, if we’re looking at top four he shouldn’t be starting. He just doesn’t score enough sadly. After the World Cup will he want to bench warm and be part of a rotating quad of strikers? I’d also be using Abrahams next season as the fourth/ cup striker. I have liked what I have seen with him at Swansea this year. Good work hard attitude.

RDP – must admit that it would be interesting to see them both up front and I agree that they could cause problems. However, that brings problems in itself in how to integrate others like Hazard and Willian into the team

I think Dortmund knew they needed a striker and the obvious swap was with Giroud but luckily for us that fell through. But I expect each season going forward for Giroud’s impact to diminish as he does not have the legs and is getting older. Probably still good for a few games but increasingly more as an impact substitute so we do have consider changes sooner or later

It will be interesting to see what we do with Tammy because I do not think he has done that well and was not even picked in the latter games when they needed goals..? I am sure he will return to Chelsea and be given a chance. Definitely keep him if we go with 2 up front as we will need 4 strikers but not so sure what the Club will do if we stay with a single striker. Again, up to him to impress and force his way in. I always think there are truths to slow burning rumours. We have one lining us up for a move for Martial from United. Thumbs up from me. I think he’s a marked improvement on Pedro who has looked utterly lost at times this season, perhaps more about the tactics than the player… anyhow, here’s to hoping we pull in quality like Martial if and when we do sign four players on the last day of the transfer window.

Speaking to a ManU fan that I work with he thinks that Martial is played as a winger but sees himself as a striker (Walcott mark 2…?)

If he played as a winger then probably an improvement on what Pedro has been this season for sure (swap deal anyone…!!). They paid 36m for him and my mate was looking for 60M+ but I suggested no more than 50m as he has had a bad season and was excluded from the French WC squad..?

Would be an interesting purchase if we could pull it off but I am sure that Jose would love to do some kind of deal Willian is involved and for me that should be a no- go under any circumstances. KTBFFH

The Transfer window is officially open:

    Opened: 17th May
    Closes: 9th August

Chelsea need to move fast in the weeks between the FA Cup final and the World Cup:

    New Manager
    4 Signings (Midfielder, Striker) Primarily

If they wait until after the World Cup then the prices will all go up with the hype and Chelsea will buy Drinkwater and Zappacosta again.

Bort – take on board your concerns but equally I am sure that the board are aware of these dates and deadlines as well

Fingers crossed that they do have a plan in place and things start to move as soon after the FAC final as possible (BTW – much prefer Zappa to Moses…?). KTBFFH

if we get Martial then we will also get his namesake poster on here in the future TMA. Is that good or bad? 🙂

    Think you’re right Bort.

Allegedly the club have a list of transfer targets that the new Manager has to select from and of course then we’ve got to get them over the line.

I’m hoping that whatever is happening managerially gets sorted quickly after the Cup Final and then we can then crack on with the transfer targets. Cheered 999

We are linked with Serri and Martial. that is good progress from the club. i would also wish to add Leon Bailey from Leverkusen. who is young left footed winger. perfect for Chelsea IMO. i can only imagine, a 4-2-3-1 formation. where we have a back four of Azpi-Rudiger-Christensen-Alonso, and Serri and Kante protecting our back four. then a trio of Martial-Hazard – Bailey supporting our striker, possibly Morata who could rediscover his touch after this season. Hazard and Martial can inter change. one can go in the no 10 whilst the other goes out on the wing.

Look at our defense without Christensen, so solid against Utd. I would keep the system of back 3 with Azpi, Cahill (or Luiz) and Rudiger. I don’t think we need reinforcement here as we still also have Christensen and Zouma.

Midfield: this is the sector we need to reinforce. I have never seen Serri played but hope that he will be a good addition for us. With Barkley and Drinkwater useless, we’ll have Kante, Cesc (who is a good passer but can’t defend) and Bakayoko who is so far inconsistent (but I liked his performance in the FA Cup final). But we’ll have RLC back. So we may reinforce here in the central midfield, nonetheless there are other sectors with more priority. One player I am sure to flourish with us though: Paul Pogba. Pogba – Kante: we’ll be awesome !!!

I don’t think Martial is an upgrade of Willian. And I am less and less convinced with Morata. So we do need to reinforce here in the creative sector to help Hazard and of course a good striker, a goalscorer. We are linked with Lewa. I think he will struggle in the Premiership. I don’t think Higuain will succeed neither. So far, no idea about striker. But creative sector, we can add Bale probably, does not seem that Real need him. I think Wilfried Zaha would be a good addition too. Griezmann is perfect but we may not be able to get him without CL football

Aindro… Martial may not be an upgrade on willian, but sure as on pedro…

I’m more than happy to see Morata stay as I reckon we’re using him wrongly. He was running when he came on… running channels in the few minutes he was given. The ball kept coming back from Giroud who didnt really hold it up too well second half, who was marked strongly by Jones… I thought his movement against United would have been much needed.

Anyhow, I’d happily have him and bats next season as a front two. Giroud as an impact sub if we dont shift him on. leaves one other…
Bakayoko under a new manager might work but he’s had a terrible landing with us.

Well after his post with the imojis covering up Conte, I think Willian must be banking on Conte leaving otherwise his goose is cooked….!!. Bloke at work is still of the opinion that a deal is done with Willian for Martial…?

Barkley is not useless and has only got a couple of games under his belt but I thought he did well enough against Newcastle for someone who has not played a full game in how many seasons..? For me he has to be kept for next season to see if his injury woes are past him

At the end of the day the big decision is surrounding the manager. If Conte stays then I think he will want to make changes and I could see Luiz, Willian and even Morata on their way. The rumour last week that Chelsea wanted Michy back indicated to me that would mean that Conte was going but everything seems so conflicting at the moment and exactly when you want time to take a deep breath and stand back to give yourself time to evaluate the situation again (bearing in mind the cup victory and “serial winner” claims), time is the one commodity that we as a Club do not have…!! “The way we played on Saturday was the only way to lift a trophy the way we are now. If you want to change, you must change many players.” Conte’s quote and what we said on here all along. Those wanting beautiful football will require a substantial change in personnel to meet those desires starting with the manager. It looks like transition time again with a rebuild around the spine of this team if we can work out who they are. Courtois, Kante, Hazard, Willian, Rutiger, Azpiliquetta being those we must build around assuming we can retain them all. Don’t expect too much next season then fellow blues brothers.

67… No… I refute Conte’s statement there. We just need to change the manager and ASAP. The players will be able to adjust in the same way they adjusted when Conte came and switched to three at the back. The falling out of players from his core indicates a loss of faith in his philosophies.

Telling that Jose gave Willian a slap on the back when coming on and Conte wasn’t even in shot.

I think the fact that Willian was awarded the players player of the year award and yet Conte has not started him in 4 out of the last 5 games speaks volumes

Clearly Conte has his views of the squad and individual players but it seems to me that some of his decisions have been too personal and not always for the good of the team

Don’t see why we have to be so negative at this stage as we have no idea which direction we are going in with respect to the manager and each will have its own ramifications. Retaining Conte ensures continuity, a “serial winner” but clearly losing a number of players and by all accounts some hefty investment. Getting rid of Conte would mean a lot of the current squad would/could remain, we would have a new manager with little time to impose his thoughts, ideas and methodology to the squad and probably some hefty investment

Some reports indicate a decision will be made in the next 48 hours with the replacement already lined up. Time will tell….!! KTBFFH

Willian has been one of our best the latter part of this season in my opinion and a favourite of mine. A must keep player and definitely not to United.

1967, totally agree our mistake last Summer was not significantly adding to the club and selling two of our best players in Costa and Matic.

If we sell Willian even if we buy Martial we are imo in danger of making the same mistake again. Cheers 999

    1967 – totally agree

Not even convinced that I would want Martial as he has not set the world alight whereas we know exactly what Willian brings to the party. Yes, Martial maybe younger but you cannot have a team totally made up of young potential. you will always require that older experienced head in the squad. KTBFFH
